Sniper based games

I really love the open maps. DF1 I still play, it is still my favorite game. Df2, it is ok, but the net code sucks, much slower.

Also there are too many chumps that get in the game and just use the SAW and simply blast away.


I wrote down a lot of your suggestions...at thie moment I do not own UT or HL (hides from thrown rotten fruit and cans) I used to have HL, but it was "borrowed" and I got rid of it after about a week with the intention of buying it. That ws 3 years ago :rooleyes:

I will have to check out Operation Flashpoint and the Ghost Recon (have played GR demo...not with humans though)

u must get hl and mods! the lag-compensating netcode is great for sniping in tfc/cs!

Keep it brief

Have you played Return to castle wolfenstein. There are 2 very nice sniper guns in that game.

The best mission for sniping is the one where you crawl out of pipe on the hill and you have the whole airbase in front of you. You can snipe just about every guard in site and then a whole truck load of them arrive. Snipe the whole lot of them before they even know what hit em. It's great fun!

If you try that in Op Flash Point they're a bit more clued up. They just bring in a tank to shell your as* http://dev.www.sharkyforums.forums.relay.cool/

I'm a sniper, too. And I hate all the sniper bashing that goes on. It takes a lot of skill and patience to be a sniper. It also takes cunning to remain out of sight and out of range. Everyone knows hat once a sniper is located, he cant really defend himself at close range. Thats why stealth and evasion are so important and so fun.

Good sniping games are:

Deus Ex
Ghost Recon

I dont own any of the other ones mentioned above so I cant comment on them.

Hahaha one of my favorite sniping tactics in DF2 (*listen up class!*) was to park in a field of grass in the middle of a plain (this depends on the map of course). Everybody expects snipers to take the high ground, or park next to a tree (and a lot of inexperienced snipers will do just that, they're easy pickin's) but don't expect him to be camped in their front yard!
