Yes, I am sure. I personally have destroyed 2 fans by blowing air thu them. This most likely happened because they were spun too fast - the poor little brushless motor assemblies on most fans WILL get destroyed if they are spun too far beyond what they are supposed to spin at.

Unless one is extremely careful, its also very easy to blow excess dust into the motor assembly of fans, which is obviously not good.

Excess dust being blown aimlessly everywhere by air cans can get into just about anything... A decent quality service vacuum (such as those used by printer maintenance people) equipped with all of the appropriate attachments is a better option.

But we all dont have one of those :) ... so I guess air cans are good... when used with the appropriate discretion.

you know I never have had any problems with dust bunnies. Of course I've got three fans in mine including the ps. one force feeding are to processor from case front out the back lower half.
other fan setup in a push pull with ps fan circulating fresh air in upper half of case keeping scsi drives cool. course mine sounds like a jet engine starting up. not due to fans mind you but from the ten hard drives in my machine.:cool:

This stresses your fans! It could possibly kill them, more likely shorten their life and make them grind/humm more and or sooner. Do your fans a favor and very lightly hold them down in the middle while blowing them out.

My computers are filthy. I clean them out, and they get dirty again real fast. I guess Im a dirty person.

F00k, I've done this LOTS of times, only with a vaccum cleaner :D
