Actually I can use these last few as an example of how not to do the cabling inside a computer.

In theory, the air flow makes it better. Plus, it just plainly looks better to have clean cabling without all that mess.Quote:

What I really was going to post, though, was that I got 4' of the psu covers like TAZTG has and am just waiting to buy some molex extenders before I put it on. I'm ordering my round cables the same day as I'm ordering my Xabre 400, as well, so I'll wait until I get them to post pictures, which'll be next week. :)

Der Best in der forums. It's so good it broke itself.
Nice ashpool, nice. Not sure about the color, but still good ;).:)
I guess this is what is the opposite of the thread title:

Btw, any tips to making my case more neat? Like how should I hide all my molex cables?
4 pin molex extenders, take the cables and tape them to the back of the mobo tray and that should be good. If you want to go all out and get it looking like TAZTG's, you can go out and buy some cable covers from an auto-store, as I did, which costed me $3 for a 4' piece which is 1/2" thick. :)
Hey Insey. Basically do what I did w/ the rear fans cables. Tuck your unused power cables in unused drive bays. And try running you front fan cables behind those hdd cages. As for the ide cables: you can round them (I think that is really gross looking for the most part) but if you do, don't cut up the little wires because some of them are for shielding, and others are for data, and that would mess up the shielding and then you'll have big problems unless you bu new cables, but if you want to round them, fold them up, and tie-wrap them arlong the cable.
What I prefer doing w/ flat cables is running them under the mobo to the deivce I want to connect them to. That is basically what I did w/ my floppy cable if you noticed. As for stuff like sudio cable for the cd rom / usb cables , just run them around pci slots and capacitors like I did. The more room you clear out for air flow the better ;). Also don't do too much of that tie wrap crap. I did it once, and when ever I wanted to change something minor in my case I had to cut them. I only used 4. One for bunch that 36" round cable to my dvd/cdrw drives, one to bunch somne psu cables together, on for the round cable to my hdds (so it won't touch my vcard, it made a really annoying humming noise when it did), and one to secure the mobo power cable to the case, so t doesn't go everywhere.
Hope this is good enough, you have a pretty cool system there. I wish your cabling days the best :).
looks like me and fbs1992 have the neatest cases so far. I think rounded cables and split loom just create an "organized" rats nest
Round cables are good for air flow when used wisely. They are good for me, since I like to space my hdds out a bit and have the fan blow air over them. Flat cable would just block air from effieciently blowing onto other components. Also, you guys have an advantage over us antec users. The lian li cases are deeper, there is more roon for the mobo, the hdd bays are right by the hdd ports, and there is that thing covering the top part where the psu is (covering all the typical chaos of fan wires. It also helps that the hdds are setup vertically so that there is not twisting or turning to get the hdds connected. Just my 2 cents. But excelent jobs to the both of you none the less.Quote:

I would have gotten rounded cables, but it was faster and cheaper to just twist them around a couple of times, and they dont block airflow as much and its safer than rounding them yourselfQuote:

I'll be joining the round cable sect soon.
Ordering 'em in a few minutes. :)

Maybe because your hdds are right next to each other, with no fan by them;). I however like how you rounded them. I just hate the old covering them with electrical tape method that I have seen so much of.
Just do what fbs1992 did. I like that better than round cables, however; I like the yellow even better :D .Quote:

Empty house yet!!! :( I won't be finishing buying the rest of my parts until end of August, mainly because of the P4 price drop.
But I will tell you this.....I WILL HAVE the smoothest most neat wire job EVER :) I'll spend as long as it takes to get it perfected.
I've already got glow in the dark silver round ata cables and a silver single round floppy cable, and it's only gonna get better from there :) Eventually i'd like to add a UV black light and a case window for the ATC-110. I can't wait to finish it, this p4 price drop is eating me up inside making me wait!
Nope, I'm getting a UV Cathode + UV sensitive round cables.Quote:

I'm considering painting my dummy pci fancard with UV sensitive paint, too. :)
You know XP plays CDS without that cable :)Quote:

Thanks you mentioning that. didn't know that, so I tried looking around 2k for stuff to enable that, and now I can listen to cds on my dvd rom. Thanks a lot.Quote:

I know, it was out of line. I just really didn't want this to turn into a "let me show you how crappy my case is thread." Plus, I think flat cables make things neater than round cables. Only reason I have round is because I really like the yellow.;)Quote:
