If you go to the Internet Explorer folder in Program Files, the installer should be there (IE6setup). Just run it again, and it should reinstall IE6.

sounds to me like there is an issue with the info that cd (assuming its a cd)is trying to load.. maybe we could walk her through manually setting up the connections herself..
we need more info.. what type of connection are you using??
See, this is the attitude chaps :)
Although I'm not sure she has a CD. Either dial-up networking or the IE installation could be the problem. But she hasn't posted back, probably p#ssed off with the arguing in the thread :o
Because let's face it, the only reason she's on here is because she is a 'Girl That Needs Help'. She hasn't had a great deal on this thread.
Like I say, the honesty has to be admired :D
Ohhh, I take it you still haven't searched her name. I seriously actually doubt that "Girl_needs_help" is actually a girl. Like I said, use the search and look it up yourself: then you'll see why so many people are ready to add matches to the gasoline ;)
The thought did cross my mind that this could be somebody who wants to avoid '0' replies :D
But we just don't know.

I was being serious about going down the newsagents, I also advised you to reinstall dial-up networking, can't tell you exactly how to as i don't have XP. But I'm damn sure it can be found on Google. If you don't think that's a good suggestion then fine, but don't expect anybody to answer you if you generalise and say that you are not happy with all of the answers. Myself and a few others HAVE offered you tangible advice.
If you don't want it and come with such an attitude, then you can shove it up your a#se basically :p
On the other hand, if you wish to converse in a more friendly way with me and the others who wanted to help you, you may have a chance of solving your problem.
Over to you then.
Well said. And I was actually sticking up for you, now that I think about it, maybe I shouldnt have. Lovely attitude ya got there. Where I certainly dont agree with flaming other users (even if they deserve it) maybe the other guys werent too far off in saying that your posts are indeed "questionable".Quote:

you cant actually reinstall dialup networking or tcp/ip in windows xp, however you can reset the tcp/ip stack which has the same effect.. do this:
Make sure you are logged in with administrator privileges.
Click "Start" and then "Run".
Type in cmd and click "OK" to open a command line prompt.
In the command line prompt type in,
"netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt"
(without the quotes) and click the "Enter" key on your keyboard. Your PC's TCP/IP stack will now be reset.
That's handy for me to know as well Mantra.
Cheers :)

She probably hasn't Bob, but I did.
And they weren't there.
do a repair installation of windows xp, just boot up with the cd, choose the partition and do a repair install.
Another thing you can do is put in one of those free AOL CDs, and run IEsetup from there (all the AOL CDs have IE). If AOL hasn't sent you a copy, Blockbuster usually has it at their counter.
the irony in that statement :pQuote:

You're telling me, I've decided to put those babies to good use (coffee coasters, heh heh).:DQuote:

I heard that there is someone that is collecting AOL cd's, and have about 20,000+ so far. They are planning to collect as many as they can and send em back to AOL. Now THAT would be funny.
