that`s a good idea, i mean what are you going to do with the laptop IN school, not play games i suppose caz your not allowed to do that i class :pQuote:

i would dare to say pick an old K6-2 400Mhz wirh 128 MB or something like that, if you want to transfer files from one computer to another then get a croos over cable between your desktop and laptop
Considering how much the Alienware laptops cost, I recommend getting a good desktop and getting an inexpensive laptop that will meet your needs.
I made it through college w/my current desktop in a major that requires lots of word processing. If you go desktop you'll save lots of money building it yourself... remember, you can get Office XP and XP Pro dirt cheap from your university. I preferred not using my own computer to do my work since I'd end up taking gaming breaks. Using the university computers saved me from lots of procrastination... :)
If size is a factor I'd recommend a Shuttle XPC... :)
Don't spend that much on a gaming laptop. It's much better and more practical to get a decent desktop and budget notebook. Together, they're the same price as a high end notebook. They'll be much more flexible in the long run as well.
