I'm about to build a server for an auto dealer in Houston Texas.
Don't think I'll be going the Sis 655 route on a mission crtical server. I'm going with Intel so I can build it and FORGET it.

That is why anyone concerned with quality get Intel cpu and motherboard. Why do you think dell does it. Why do you think Intel makes all the Xeon chipsets, because people that are willing to pay big bucks for machines that are going to do serious stuff buy them. Not your average overclocking nerds here...Quote:

LOL SiS is for average overclocking nerds.... Its true! lol
I feel sorry for SiS and their fanboys... Theyre so lost its not even funny
the funny thing is that you might be one of them  (unless you do something more useful with computers than oc, run benchmarks, and play games)...Quote:

Actually in all fairness to SIS, the only experience I have is from earlier chipsets. While I have been buying only Intel chipsets the past 4 years, I am glad that SIS is out there to give Intel some competition. As such we all benefit with lower costs and improved chipsets.:D
Instead of just trash talk, have you ever considered posting some reputable web sites to back up your statements? You do read more than just the forums, correct?Quote:

And maybe some of your personal experience as it relates to the SIS655, or SIS/P4 in general, I'm sure you must have much experience with the SIS/P4 platform, correct?
EDIT: For the original poster here's a few articles to assist you in making your mind up:

Doesn't look like either dual channel ddr chipsets are worth getting over the 845PE (unless you had lots of money, and if I did, I'd get a xeon mobo w/ dc-ddr because they aren't much more expensive. I wouldn't get a gigabyte though either) ... just my 2 cents
