Well Epox replied, pretty fast I'll give them that, but it's all stuff we've already tried. He says the board is rated to pc3200 which is 200mhz, but I'm saying we can't even get past ~180 with this, so that's what I'm emailing back.

Ok, my numbers now are 180 x 12.5 (2250 MHz) in dual channel. Not as good as my 200 x 11.5 and I still have to compare my performance marks between the two setups.

I cannot get to the Epox site at the moment, can you post the e-mail address? I want to ask them about the single channel vs. dual channel as this seems to be the major issue.
All i could get stable with 2x256 pc 3000 hyperX on my new A1 stepping is capable of 180 mhz MAX...i replaced an old A3 stepping board with the same ram was running stable at 200 and would post and boot up to 208 fsb. The ram and the A1 stepping is the problem...some kind of imcompatability of voltage issue on the new boards i dont know what else to say.
I Ordered 2x256 pc 3500...because philip is running with that combo and the A1 stepping @ 231 fsb. So now im praying i get some sticks that wont mess up. I really dont want to RMA this after taking a hit on RMA and restocking fee on the previous a1 stepping board i ordered thinking for sure it was the board.

just to add some info, i have kingston pc3000, 1 stick of 512 and 1 stick of 256 running in dual channel(i have the newest bios also) and right now i'm at 9.5x200 at 2.7vdimm and 2-2-2-4 and it was stable running ut2003 and superpi at the same time for half an hour(that's all the time i had). i will try more stability testing tonight or tomorrow and let you all know. good luck with the problems and i hope that i don't run into them(although my cpu seems to be a bum).:D
Thanks :cool: It just doesn't make sense to me cause the board is rated to 200mhz. The new bios gives it auto-detection for the new 200mhz (400mhz DDR) Barton's that are coming out, so they will be added to the specs. If someone drops a 200mhz FSB Barton in there with 512mb sticks of Kingston, you will not be able to run the Barton at it's rated speed, you will have to back down the FSB LOWER to like 180mhz (or have to run the mem out of synch with the FSB which is a huge performance hit). All our proc's now are 133mhz, so that would be like having to run them at 113mhz. Nobody would do that and nobody would use this board if that were the case, it's BS man.Quote:

Epox emailed me back again today. They don't know if it's incompatibility or what, but he said he forwarded it on to "HQ" for review. See what that does (where did I put that rooleyes smilie... :D Hey, you never know). At least we're on the same page now. Now it's up to the rest of you guys to email them so they know that lots of people with kingston 512mb's are having this problem. Here's the reply:

Just wanted to give you guys an update on where i'm at.
After an hour or so on the phone with Epox, and trying their beta bios, nothing seemed to work. Then I changed my CPU interface to optimal from aggressive and I'm now at 8x190. I will try to go up further once I run Prime95 and memtest for a while longer.
I'm not sure if this is something everyone already knows, but I just thought I would share it.

I wonder if it will end up being Epox blaming Kingston and Kingston blaming Epox.
Yeah I tried the optimal to aggressive as well, still same result for me, at least you got a little higher. The only other thing I can think of that I haven't done yet is check the contact my Vantec Iceberq has with the NB. I know the NB is concave, so I put some extra Ceramique on there, but I haven't checked it. Gotta take it all apart cause I need to get to the clips from underneath the mobo.Quote:

Epox emailed me back again, said they would let me know when they hear anything. No new info, but it's nice to see good response from the tech support people. Just an FYI for everybody as to where we are at. Their reply:

yeah, i'm in sync with fsb but i eventually had to lower it to 2-3-3-6 at 2.7vdimm. stability however is not fully assured yet.
Well, I did e-mail Epox and got the stock response. Quite dissappointing actually and I am too tired to reply at the moment.
