my old ti500 would 273/604 on my 8kha+ board, but will only do 265/595 on this 8rda, so from my experience the motherboard can affect your max overclock on the card...Quote:

<10MHz isnt anything to sweat. this means 290/590 as a worst case scinerio for the ti4200 I buy since he has his at 300/600 and didnt try for higher. Heck maybe my mobo would gain me 5MHz LOL
T-Bird, I've told you over and over that the A3 cores of the GeForce4 Ti could almost always hit 300MHz. It's similar to how almost all B0 1.8A Pentium 4's could hit 2.4GHz rock solid stable.Quote:

My thoughts on RAM ratings.
Just because RAM is rating at a certain speed it doesn't mean it won't go any faster. It might even be a higher quality part repackaged at a lower rating just sold to meet demand.

I'm going to try my heart out to come close to 16k with my ti4800se.... I don't think its possible but Fook it, I have a zalman and ramsinks coming..... and two 120mm fans. I need to put my new system together quik when it gets here....

yah i know, i'm shooting for like 330/740 and hopefully 2.4ghz+ from at least one of my bartons.
My 64M Ti4200 (Chaintech, STOCK cooling, no mods) always ran 305/605 for benches, 295/595 every day. At the higer clock I'd start to get small artifacts afte awhile, nothing crazy, but noticeable. A screen refresh would clear them temporarily....Quote:

I have already had my 4200 upto 305/645 no artifacts and it is a A1 core, all I did to it was remove the HSF and apply AS3 and put some ram sinks on with the thermal tape that come with gf4 cooling kit and they don`t fully cover my ram, they are for the small square ram(do not buy the Thermaltake GF4 cooling kit if you have a asus 9280 8x like I do it won`t fit) I hope the 4200 he is getting will be a good OCer and put this to rest about having to have a volt mod to get the ram above 600mhz.
