One of my boxes has an 8500LE and that biotch won't do but 245/245
artifact free. It'll go up to 260/260 but looks like hell. :(

you know you can run the core async of the ram, use powerstrip for that. 245 is a low oc for the core. I understand many le's use crappy ram, but generally, the cores are good for around 275. also many le's are undervolted so a pencil trick might work. you could get 290/270 after the pencil trick and using powerstrip :)

I'm currently using Rage 3D, was using powerstrip before that. Not much difference except Rage is prettier. They both give you lots of options. Tell me more about the pencil trick. I did the pencil trick on my old 1200 TBird to unlock the core a few years back...Quote:

How u do it with the 8500?
I did not do the pencil trick yet and you do not need to run your core in sync with the ram. leave the ram alone and oc just the core dude
