What are you talking about? Those would piss all over your Thoroughbred or my Barton. Overclock wise. 2.6GHz @ 1.95V. I'm tempted to ditch the Barton.

i just got one a couple weeks ago, and i'm tempted to get another just to see if i get lucky ;)

Except for the part where you can also run high clocks stable at lower voltages too...:) I don't see how it is a "downgrade" at all???:confused::confused::confused: How are these only good for:

That's what I'm at least trying - to see if it outdoes my Barton.

Alas, I know it may be a 'downgrade', but I'm willing to chance it. Yep, 2.6. What a bummer......

let us know how it overclocks. can you hit 2.5GHz? show me and on air too. anyway theres little point in getting that cpu if yours is already fast

Just a note to you guys - I pulled my order from the egg....the more I thought of it, the more I couldn't justify what would really be a questionable improvement over my Barton. I get 2.4 on the Barton, what - 2.5 MAYBE on the 1800+??.

The money's going to an Enermax 365FMA PSU to replace my 350W HEC - money better spent, I think.....

I agree with that decision. Its pretty much the same reason I'm not getting the Barton. 2.4Ghz of Barton is awfully close in performance to 2.5-2.6Ghz of Tbred. Better to spend $$ where you'll notice it more

I agree also.

For me though, I can move my 1800+ into my second rig(that needs a processor) and the one that Newegg is shipping will go into this one. Not bad at all for $59 shipped I'd say!:eek::)

You are nuts.. in your own post you list more advantages to them but you stilld eride them.

Only good for stock or crap cooling. So, this is a good thing. What is wrong about not having to spend 2/3 the price of the chip on cooling. What the hell are you *****ing about. Are you saying I got ripped off because my 2500+ runs at 3200+ on stock cooling? Or likewise an 1800+ that is pushing above 2400+ speeds on stock?

You mention that your chip needs 2.2v to do 2.47GHz, so the hell what, I am guessing that you won't have it for a long time. Plus you only do that for benches, who cares then. In my opinion, if an overclock is not stable 100% of the time, what real use is it.

Downgrade my ***. From the sounds of it you could use something like this to open your eyes. Benchmarks don't mean ****, voltage does not mean ****, day in and day out performance are what matters.

T-Bird, to find the total number of people who support this in the forum...multiply by that number and subtract one(you). Does this say anything to you about the way you think or spew this stuff?

Anyways, these procs come in a crappy(yet very strong) shrink wrapped container that takes a while to open!:mad: I thought I heard the boxes were different with the newer steppings, is this true? Yes, I'm that excited!:D:cool:

i dunno....the one i got a couple weeks ago was packaged identically to the retail 1800+ tbred chip i bought several months ago.
