Well, I`ve got it running at 2.325ghz(12.5x185) for now and soon I will have my 1600+ computer up and folding too. BTW, the error I was getting was checksums don`t match starting from original work package.

What's the point of folding?
We are folding proteins, in the hope to find a cure for cancer and other disease`s.Quote:

i keep getting tinkers, even with all the flags set. w-t-h ???
so far i've restarted the client; deleted the core/client and started with new ones; deleted everything in the folder and started over; deleted everything and started over with 3.24; made a new folder and started over with both 3.24 and 4.0 -- nothing works. i keep getting tinkers. ???
Take and uninstall everything, reinstall the 3.24 client, then take and put the 3.25beta icon in the 3.24 folder, then delete all cores in that folder. Make a shortcut to desktop of the 3.25 beta and put in advmethods and forceasm, alsa put a copy of this shortcut in the startup folder. Click on the desktop shortcut and it should first download a new core and then a gromacs WU.Quote:

can you translate that for linux? :p
No, I don`t know anything about linux, maybe someone that does will, know what to do. Sorry about that.Quote:

now i'm getting a segmentation fault with 3.25, so it appears that something is messed up royally. i'll have to hunt around for any other files folding might create on the system, but i don't think there are any. something is not making sense...
it just refuses to get any gromacs. the only thing i can think of that might work is if someone has linux on their system if they could run 4.0 and send me a copy of the other core, 78 i think it is, instead of 65 that keeps downloading on my machine.
--------------
>check this out: it seems folding sometimes runs out of gromacs for linux machines! i'm working on setting up wine to run the windows version from linux -- supposedly that's even faster, too.
Finished my 1st WU at around 1700 (GMT) on Tuesday, 2nd WU around 7:30am (GMT) today, yet I'm still not listed. That was using the console version 3.24, FahCore_65 on the 1st WU, FahCore_78 for the 2nd.
Double and triple checked everything and it's correct. Checked the log and the WU did complete.
Switched to the GUI version 4.00 (pre1) for the 3rd WU, currently at 53%.
Can't get the SSE Boost to work, but that might be due to my KT133 mobo seeing my XP2100+ (TBred) as "Unknown CPU type."
it seems you should have shown up on the stats page by now, would be my guess. maybe the servers are backlogged for some reason, though. did you "register" using your sharky username?
the SSE problem might have to do with a limitation in how your mobo sees the CPU. i can't say for sure, but it sounds like a reasonable assumption. are there any BIOS upgrades that would allow it to recognize the tbred?
you might also want to search the folding-community.org forum for possible answers to both questions. i think that forum might be moderated by some of the people who run the stanford folding program.
Well, I have got all my problems worked out but one, and that is my 56K dialup(SBC Yahoo) keeps getting bumped off the internet. It didn`t mean that much to me before I started folding, but now it seems to do it after I go to sleep and I can not send in results are get new WU`s. Is there any way to fix this, or should I change sevice providers. Lost 6hrs of folding time this morning because of it doing this. BTW, cable and dsl is out of the question.
I have the FX 51 folding, but it refuses to use the forceSSE tag.
Wish I could help on that one. Have you calculated your PPDPG without the SSE?
No, been having some problems with it dropping units, even at default. I added some vcore and it seems to be better. It's a little warm too, 66c/cpu 34c/motherboard 26c/case.
Yeah like your sig link says good enough and good enough for folding are different answers for sure. Glad to hear the vcore helped like it usually does. I've brought a 6th cpu online myself. Again though sadly its 40 hours a week. Although it is a 3.06Ghz P4. It should be just enough to keep Saffire and thebove at bay... maybe... actually I hope they go sailing past me because now I'm definitely producing over 1K a week
It's working on an 803 right now and from the early folds, it is just under 9 min a percent. But heat is a real issue. The stock cooler is just not up to the job.
PPDPG????
As of latelly, FahCore_78.exe keeps crashing.
FahCore_78.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x077fcb3ad" referenced memory at "0xc106b320". The memory could not be "written"
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.
Ok, closes it. And Cancel it just sits there, I see no activity nor my cpu usuage goes above 5%
Should I reinstall F@H ? It might be easier, but if there is a solution and other members have the same problems, then one answer can help many.
can't you just set it up so folding doesn't have to ask to reconnect to the internet? i haven't played around with this at all since i am living in the dorms and have a 24/7 internet connection, so i don't know if it will actually work or not...but that's a guess about how to fix your problem.Quote:

No, it just fustrates me when, my internect connection is bumped during the night when I`m sleeping. The WU is saved in queue, so I don`t lose it but, It can`t download another WU. So, I lose folding time until I wakeup and reconnect to the internet. I was just wondering if there was a program that would lessen the chance of it being bumped off the internet.Quote:

that sucks man. do you know...is it because of inactivity on your end? or is it because of being bumped off at the isp level?Quote:

I believe its at the ISP level, I have been thinking of changing ISP`s and see if I can get one thats better then SBC/Yahoo. I have given up talking to their technical people who know a lot less then me and I practically know nothing. :(Quote:

yeah...sounds like the best idea is going to be switching ISPs. and it is always sad having to try and talk to those guys when they really don't know much of anything. good luck on finding a better ISP!Quote:

I posted this in the Networking section, but have not had much help with my problem there, I have had my secound computer up and running and connected to my main rig and I can not get internet sharing to work. So if anyone can think of anything else I can try to get it going check out my thread in networking. I hate to see it just setting there and not folding anything.:(
