AMD Stepping Info

Dont get me wrong... I dont like to piss my money away...

If I can get a stick of memory at 1/2 the price that would perform as well as something else... I would probably go with 1/2 the price.. Assume I am not sacrificing anything in the trade...

for motherboards, get a Abit NF7-S those are pretty good and cheap, or if you want, a Epox 8rda+ rev 2 or better... then your overclocking should be good, and it seems your barton could probably hit 200mhz FSB easy

True, but the point of what I got.. Is that it was a great deal for both of us... And he didnt have a NF7-S or whatnots...

I'll see how well this MSI board will go... I have some spare Kingston PC3000 sticks... And I'll see how well it will do :)

But the vcore is maxed out at 1.8v and vdimm at 2.7 (ouch!)

You already got the board???

Why is everyone having a hard time believing I would use/buy and AMD? I have been saying for sometime now how the A64 performs very well and I would consider one...

I offer my congrats to the big C and a booya! to the naysayers (...)

Unfortunately I feel like the poor chip will be the Cinderella of his big...Intel Family :) Its gonna be equiped with a TNT card or something ;)

On a more serious note ~ when are you getting it? Its gonna be used primarily as a folding rig?

Im not sure... I wanted to try out the XP 2500, but then the CPU was locked before I was able to pick one up... So that killed any idea of buying it...

It wont have a awesome gaming card... Probably a lower end ATI or nvidia card.. Nothing special... I might just use the cpu for folding and for testing.. Since I want to start a small folding/seti farm and I was thinking of going diskless...

Ohhh I was told this chip was at 24/7 230x10.5 with a SLK-900 and a tornado... at 1.70v IIRC...

Sounds decent?

This was done on a A7N8X...

Yes, that speed at 1.7v core is very impressive indeed :)
