Looking at a new case for modding

Couple of questiions Colossus:

Steel or Aluminum?

Is the rear I/O standard for ATX? MB anchors too? (My main prob)

Is the door gonna stick around, or get some modding love as well?

Ok, enough. That looks like a whole lot of fun! The 2 in one idea is very interesting. A gaming/OC'ing rig and a dedicated seperate folding machine in the same case. Very cool.

Well, when you get it and have a chance to do some measuring and brainstorming, let's hear some more of your ideas.

BTW, I believe it is only proper to come up with a project name. I vote for "Project: Colossal"

Standard ATX board mounts and comes with 2x ATX Powersupplies.. Not sure exactly how the power supplies mix.. Since there is on power cable. You can get a better look when looking at the back of the case

I believe it sticks.. You can see a door lock. But I am not sure. I will have it on Wed/Thur

I was thinking of a name for her... I am very excited about it. Since I am a virgin modder it will be difficult for me to try things out. But I am willing to try things out..

GLScooby, I respect your opinion. I have seen the great work that you have done.. Along with all the other modders like TAZ and Santa.. And all the others I know I am not naming since I am drawing a blank...

I have always wanted to mod a case. But when I look at my basic Enermax and Antec cases I dont see what I see in her... Does that make sense? I guess my basic cases dont turn me on like that new case does!

The two pc's in one is a nice idea.. I was thinking of something like that when BTX comes around.. Since then you can actually just mount it on the other side of the mobo tray and attach two cases to one...

I will surely have pictures for all the fans. But work would probably be slow. I do work.. But I need help in planning out my strategy..

Im still waiting for the interior pictures :(

But the dimensions of it is 25(H) x 11(W) x 19(D)

Also I found out that the clear door is not plexi!!!!!!

Its a very fine Metal Mesh cover!

I might keep it or switch to a smoked plexi.. Not sure!

keep the window it sounds like it is way more durable than plexi
plexi is easily scratched, and we don't want a scratched door now do we?

True.. But I am usually pretty careful.. I am just worried about rust.. Its not aluminum.. It is quite heavy steel :D

Since I am going to be sanding it down to allow the new coat of paint to adhere better.. Do you guys use any kind of sealant?

i say use RUSTOLEUM primer and it's for metal to prevent (get this) RUST!

i did not know the steel cases rust

There are iron alloys in steel I think, can't remember my chemistry at the moment. But yes, steel and iron can and do rust (given the right things and time).

Actually, it's the opposite. Ash gets on people who think they need giant psu's. Like they'll get a 500MHz better O/C, 150 more 3DMarks, and the 12 dollar memory they found on eBay will run at 2-2-2-3 timings because they got a big psu.

(Besides, we all know it's the XIDE Pads that get you that stuff)
