You really gutted that rig out there. I'm impressed by the consistancy in the metalic look, without any change in texture, other than the sleek fx. I've often though about a purple case, looks good to see one done with this much care. (also must be nicer to work with when the case hasn't been used for about 4 yrs before the mod.)
Nice Sleeving on the Internal Wire's and Fan. Not sure I like the Spiral Wrap to much, maybe it it was in purple and the wires black.. Love that Stealth job.
Thanks guys! Taztg, that is a good idea! I had not thought about that. I've seen a vendor that had different colors of spiral wrap, I'll have to see if they have a shade of purple that will work with this! Thanks for the idea!
The funny thing about the coolermaster boxes is that as I was scrolling through the pictures, I thought (due to the color) that they were a photo of the next part of the mod. :D
I've found a vendor that sells purple cable wraps! WOO HOO!! They are in Canada, so it may take a little bit to get them down here, but I have found them!!!!

Must be new, the cable pic doesn't show the spiral or I'm just impatient.
If your cables light up, it is likely due to the inclusion of EL Rope into the IDE and FLoppy cables. If they glow or have a seperate power source, then that is EL rope. These springs are unpowered. They are plastic springs.
Simple as that.
I won a set of UV Yellow or green (not sure) and have been looking for them ever since.
I'm now going to attempt to get me a set that will help me wrangle the cabling inside Lupine, and do it with style! ;)
(edit: Looks like they used EL Ribbon inside the cable sleeving on your rig... neat trick!)
Springs will look pretty wild.. Haven't seen them used on any MODS, should look different..

The wolf was used with the permission of the artist, and his name is Nick Deligaris (http://www.deligaris.com/art/color30.jpg). I believe you will find the remainder of his work as impressive as the wolf. He was very gracious in the use of his artwork, so long as I did not profit from it and I gave him credit. Well, as we all know, modding is an illness, and I certainly have not made any money on this mod ;) but I want full artistic credit for the wolf to be directed to Nick and his beautiful work @ www.deligaris.com. Thank you Nick, it has been a pleasure working with you on this!

I am contemplating making the sides look like there are branches from trees "just out of view" that are poking into the picture.... we'll see how that flies before I start cutting.
All put together, after cutting, this is how I forsee the window coming out, shape wise:

The bottom will not be white, I just had to reverse the cliff image, and flip over the paper to orient the wolf where I wanted it. Where you see white on the bottom, that will actually be the black of the side cover. Plus, the white just shows up better on the black background!
The inside CPU fan shroud had to be removed to make way for the window. I think this hurt a bit to pull the tube out, as I had wonderful plans of seeing how cool my CPU was going to cool using hte fresh air.... but alas, the window and the placement of this cylinder just would not work out... so, off it came!

Putting the cutout template on the inside of the door . I actually ended up cutting off the bottom 1.5 inches of white paper, and lowering the scene down so that the rocky/cragy clifs were not going to be cut out of the mesh work... I did not want to hit the bondo on this cut! ;)
More tomorrow, as I will begin and hopefully complete my window!

The etch is amazing. That is going to look great with the case. Lupine. I never got that until I saw the etch. Owwwww! :cool:
Nice man, howd you etch that. It sure pwns my etch, unless you used lazers or chemicals, then i understand how it came out so nice.
I have a friend with a laser that etches... ain't NO way I could pull that off by hand!

I was wanting the resolution of the wolf hair to come through on the etch, and it did, so... once I light the acrylic with the LED's, the details should "pop" out!

The only thing is, the wolf silhouette that your cutting into the case should be howling twoards the moon i would think, or do you not think so?
My original design had me resting the moon etch behind the wolf profile in the window... but I forgot about the wire mesh on the left hand side of the side panel which interferes with the wolf profile being cut out of one solid piece. So I had to flip it and drop it in order to remove all of the mesh metal perforations (I did not want to do any bondo or painting on the side panel, so that I could keep the matte black coloring of the brushed alum continuous)... I hope this makes sense?
Also, by having both Wolves on the same side, the left side of the image seemed "heavier" than the right. By flipping the wolf profile back to the right, I was able to add a bit more balance to the overall layout.
Yea i was kinda thinking that as well, well, either way, it should look freaking awsome!

Led's from the side of the frame. White for the wolf and the moon.
I may put some etching (maybe smoke/fog/mist) around the wolf that is cut into the window. I may do that fog in a different color. ;)

After cutting the window, the black finish on the outside has been damaged. Tried to avoid it but when you are cutting through metal with a spinning abrasive disc... things happen! ;) I tried painting with a flat black... but MAN... matching black is nearly impossible!

Looks like I have to hit it with the ol' gloss black treatment. Did not want to have to paint the external facing sides, but... you do what ya gotta do!
I'll be priming/sanding and painting tonight. Pics to follow later.
I found that out as well when doing a minor mod to my Antec case, matching the black was almost impossible.
btw very nice job on the cutout sidepanel, can't wait to see it all lit up with the window in place :cool:
Have you tried getting it matched at a paint store?
