I got my refurb today and unless I'm missing something, this isn't a refurb. It appears to me to be a new card. No scratches around the connectors and the packaging was typical white box sealed packaging just like it came from the assembly floor. I've returned ATI cards before and been reissued refurbs and this was packaged totally different.
Awesome, can't wait. :) Did it come with anything besides the card?

There hasn't been a company yet to put out a PCI-X video card. Not that I know of.Quote:

I guess it doesn't use PCI-X signalling.
I can almost distinctly remember the press release from last year talking about it being the world's first PCI-X video card and it was meant almost entirely for people with my setup: 1 AGP and multiple PCI-X slots so that we could 2 or more Parhelias for multiple displays.
I guess 64/66 PCI is about as close to PCI-X that you can get though. :)

Has anybody else noted that ATI has an X800 Pro PCI-E (not AGP) on pre-order for $199 now? They have the AGP in stock (as always) but they added the PCI-E version.
Given that I need a PCI-E card for my other machine I wonder if I should go for it. I think I might watch and see what ATI's doing. Their prices are going down faster than Britney's sex appeal.

Just the card, install CD, a molex splitter, VGA to DVI adapter, and a couple of dongles (a HDTV Component Video Adapter and 9-PIN VIVO dongle). All of it packaged in plastic and sealed. This is definitely a new card. :cool:Quote:

Offer new cards as "refurbs" and sell them on the cheap.

All this talk of new vc's for cheap is just killing me, my puny barton rig would just hold them all back.
#&$%@$ sapphire, get the ati mobos out now! so I can upgrade!! grrr.
*&(@!)#*
All of the current refurbs from ati.com are new cards.
is there anyway to verify that? just curious as i got one of the x800xtpe for $233 shipped. i can post a pic if needed.Quote:
