My speed is still 4.3mbps, but so far the problem with Comcast increasing it's latency in the middle of the day has stopped. So that's a pretty good thing.
First of all - what in HELL is this thread doing in the General Hardware forum ?
:frown:   :frustrated:Quote:

DrTCP is a Registry tweaking tool (but GUI ;) ) for all those various settings you see - so it's much faster (except for the reboots for settings to take affect)
Use/Try these settings for 98;

I too have a Motorola modem (Surfboard) - and here's a recent Test D/l and I'm getting 719KB/sec ;)

PM me ...if you want the access code from browser to view the modem settings/config/tests/status
...erm - unless you're on some kind of college/university welfare program.... that's 8mbps son - the CAPITAL B = MegaBYTE -Quote:

note - not too shabby at all though, 8mbps translates to 1000KB/sec download - compared to my 5mbps or ~612KB/sec down
My speed is 5674.5 Kbps, and the good news is I pay roughly $45.00 CAD to get it.
Ive had Comcast's 6mb/768kb line for around 2 years and have been pleased. I wish they raised the upload to a full 1.5mb, but the download speeds are great, on fast servers i can expect 600KB+ per second.
Need I say more?

SWEET JEBUS!!! Now that is insanely fast! I've dreamed a holy and righteous dream! How do I get that? Can I get that? What sort of hardware do I need to support it?...

hmmm over a wireless network, connected to a cable modem.
From Philadelphia to New York.

298 u,
for what is suppoed to be a 36Mbps wireless network and 6Mbps cable connection. :-/
okay move to the computer near the Modem, jack the cable straight to the modem, and I get:
From Phila to New york.
6123D
319U
But 5 minutes for a full sized DVD is still TOOOOO slow imo.
