That's probably a pretty good part of it. You have a better chance of sticking with the game if you've already dropped $250 into it than if you are just paying month to month. I just up and decided to quite City of Heroes one day, but if I had already paid off two years of it, I would definitely have kept on playing.Quote:

If you preorder you also get into openbeta a month before launch and keep your character. So you pretty much get a huge head start over everyone.

Just to clarify, it's a week prior to open-beta launch that you can get in. If you pre-order it's March 30th, otherwise it's April 6th. Also, the $9.99 is the price as long as you don't cancel. Once you do, it goes back up to $14.99 like everyone else.Quote:

I played it, its even easier than WoW. Not my thing but it does have really nice graphics and performance.
I have to disagree with you 100% on it being easier than Wow, at least in LOTR you have reactionaries.
Yeah nothing can be easier than WoW. You can get to like level 25 just by running from place to place.

Humans: Burglar, Captain, Champion, Guardian, Hunter, Minstrel, Lore-master
Dwarfs: Champion, Guardian, Hunter, Minstrel,
Hobbits: Burglar, Guardian, Hunter, Minstrel
Elves: Champion, Guardian, Hunter, Lore-master, Minstrel
Class role as defined by the game
Burglar --- Debuffer.
Captain --- Buffer/pets
Champion --- AOE damage/DPS
Guardian --- Tank
Hunter --- Nuker
Lore-master --- Crowd-control/pets
Minstrel --- Healer
I can't give much info on them since I haven't played much at all. The newness of the game wore off very quickly and I just don't have a desire to even login anymore.

Yeah, Burgler is also something like a Thief/rougue. And I'll add Minstrel something like a bard.
I agree, though UO I think is the most unique out of all the MMORPGs I know of. It's the only game that hasn't copied EQ's GUI and has one of the best leveling systems albeit bugged. UO was a great game, it was truely something different, not these re-hashes that keep coming out trying to milk the genre for what it's worth and sticking with the EQ model that has been in place since '97. Sure there's lots of differences between Everquest and every other MMORPG released since, but they all feel like EQ which makes them difficult for me to get into. The only MMORPG that I can tolerate at the moment is Guild Wars, and that's only because it's free and thus not really an MMORPG. UO needs some love from EA...Quote:

Totally compleatly customizable UI....in fact I still miss SB's UI, every move had a button and you could put those buttons ANYWHERE you wanted...i miss that

I really like the LOTR, I just really hope they do something to the engine cause i'm fairly certain that if I'm getting 40 fps in RV6 at full and 1400x900 then I should be getting more than 17 in LOTR.
Im hoping they release another build for open beta, kinda like they did between beta 1 and 2
The engine upgrade they made the first time made a WORLD of difference
There was a setting in troubleshooting that was limiting my fps to like 20, I changed it and immediately went to like 60+.
