yea really guys, dont mention pirating....they should have a pirating ( bit torrent ) section on sharkys though.

I dont plan on "buying" it. I wasnt impressed with the graphics, they looked simple and dumbed down. I dont like the sepia color scheme. I know theyre trying to be different an' all, and call me crazy, but I like colors.
I'm kinda blah about this game. I dont understand how the scores can be so high on metacritic.

Guess I'll do the "try before you buy" version.

Even if it's kept even more private than the site itself (ie a skull and bones area for veteran members), I don't see how that could benefit anybody here. It's one of those things that just shouldn't be as nonchalant as it is.

you just reminded me of my late teens to early early 20's years. I use to run a dialup BBS and did just that :)

and only senior (or paying) users have access to section 16. :)

I was meh with the Trigens also but I really liked the first level when they were introduced. The Tree Top level, I loved that one.

So far I am a little disappointed in FC2. It feels more like stalker than FC. The combat is pretty lame so far as well. The targets take multiple shots without phasing them and a shot to head doesn't mean they are down. The graphics are decent but not breath taking and for Africa it doesn't seem very "alive." I see VERY few animals running around, even birds. Maybe it will get better, but they added a lot of stuff that makes it seem bloated. Like reputations, gun store, friends, etc. Seems like they were wanting to make a GTA4 FPS set in Africa...

Too bad they messed up the FOV on WS's like Bioshock when it came out. They need to fix this or they no gets my $$$$. :)

How can I verify?

The download of FC2 via Steam was amazingly fast, taking the full speed of my FIOS. The install once downloaded was extremely quick and at one point it did ask for the cdkey as well as installed punkbuster (did not prompt if I wanted it installed).

I believe it does use SecuROM as there is a folder in my profile with that name and the time FC2 was installed.

I don't even know why they called this far cry. It's nothing like far cry. No bright colours, no sense of humour, even the sky looks washed out blue. It does have a Stalker feel to it, better then stalker though. I'm thinking I will like it but I just need to get used to it.

Just marketing, probably. FarCry was a huge hit, if you can sell another FPS with that name, you're sure to get people's attention.

On high I'm getting 40fps, ultra high 25. :(

No AA bc it kills performance. 1368x768.

I've heard Nvidia cards need a patch or something. I am running 50+ at everything very high at 1920x1200 with 2xAA. No slow downs at all yet.

everything on high gets me about 30 fps...it's a stable 30fps too

I get terrible simulator sickness though...the fov just seems way too small...when this happens I can generally play about 10-15 minutes a day until it eventually goes away :( it's weird because I've never had this problem until this generation of games

so far in the 10 minutes I've played...the voice acting is one of the worst I've ever heard...sounds like someone's reading directly from a script...there's no emotion at all
