Exactly.
Though I do think 7 is a bit better - an evolutionary advancement over Vista.
BUT I think they messed up super-fetch in order to gain boot speed, IE it caches less on boot to improve boot time, but hinders application launch as a result.

It is. I recently ugraded to 4x1 terabyte hd's because I'm sick of burning all the crap I download. BUT when Americas Army 3 came out on STEAM... next thing you know I'm buying games like crazy on it. I even bought Company of Heros and expansion packs from STEAM even though I already had bought them from Future shop. I couldn't get them to register with STEAM for some reason.
I love steam games, how they load and patch etc. I'm going to have to buy quick books again.. not going legit but I'm sick tinkering with cracks. I even began to use the FRee version of Avast as anti virus. I'll buy 7 ultimate when it comes out as long as it's under $500. I can't find out how much it costs, only upgrade prices.
edit: and thanks to whoever mentioned the quicklaunch thing. I was wonder why they cut that out, I've always loved it now I'll re-activate it.
I'm not gonna derail this thread but how about you start a new thread about what your reasoning is behind how torrenting is your "right" as a Canadian? I live in Canada again and I'm dying to hear your revelations.
At best, _BEST_, you can say that downloading music is legal because of taxes on blank CDs. But that is only on CDs classified as Audio CDs. I'm incredibly curious how you think the rest of your piracy is a Canadian right.
Well maybe you could provide a link to how the laws are enforced regarding torrenting in Canada? Has ANYONE ever been convicted?
I supposed video taping your tv shows would be illegal if Americans said so.. or how about taping songs off the radio? or how about library books? We actually have our own set of laws in Canada you know. So you tell me who was convicted of torrenting?
In Canada, they won't even turn off your internet lol... so yeah, I say it's legal.
I also cut the tags off my mattress.. sue me;) and you must know this has gone to court by american sponsored lawyers. The judges say it's not unlike borrowing a library book. They will only enforce it if someone is making money at it. Like if I started to produce music CDs and selling them etc.
I heard the gun registry is going bye bye too, laws can disappear too.
The first thing i Hate about is....the Vista start button! LOL
The first thing that comes to my head is ....VISTA! ***..it's still a VISTA
Password recovery through floppy? why? floppy?
other than that..i'm still exploring it..
Yea thats what ive said before, the whole taskbar looks like vista taskbar and kde taskbar merged.
You thought they could have given a child artist some LSD (xp taskbar) and have a new kind of taskbar ...
Lol at them still having floppy support. If you have a dual core system, with 2GB + of memory, you probably wont have a floppy disk or drive.
Nowadays usb drives are cheaper than buying floppies
Colossus,
If you click the icon on the taskbar and pull up you will be able to select for another instance of the application to open as well as see recently opened files listed. For more tips and tricks when using Windows 7 please go here: http://bit.ly/aCkWC

lol, what Colossus hates is the one thing I love. It took some getting used to but I love the new taskbar. My most used stuff like IE, Outlook, OneNote, RDP, command prompt, notepad, media player, etc., they are all in the same spot every time. If I need a new instance, I right click and open. I don't know, I feel much more productive with it since I normally have so much open at once.
I added the Quick Launch toolbar back. I don't know why it isn't available by default.
I can get 25 icons in a 1 inch square piece of task bar real estate.
Unlike shortcuts/favorites, the quick launch icons can be displayed as miniatures without text.
How come there isn't an option to right click / open on current monitor?
I hate when I go to open an app and it's on the 2nd monitor that is not even on.
How do you get the quick launch bacK?

I notice my icon is taking up too much room but i don't see "uncheck show text" u r talking about on my
If you are referring to the Quick Launch tool bar, right click and uncheck the Show Text menu item.
I hate that it makes me despise XP that I am stuck on at work.
Please unlock the taskbar and right on the quick launch taskbar (not the icons on the quick launch taskbar).
Select "View" and place a check mark next to "Small Icons".
"Show Text" should also be visible.
Remember to lock the taskbar when you have completed your customizations.
