There's a beta weekend underway this weekend and I've spent many, many hours playing. I also took many screenshots!

My impressions? <3.
Your cat guy looks like a boss.
Another pre-purchase-the-game-and-you-can-play-in-the-beta weekend again starting today.
I'm far less interested in GW2 now compared to two years ago when it really should have come out :p but on the other hand, I can't really see myself holding off playing it until a major price drop either. So with that in mind, now I'm figuring I might as well pre-purchase for the (few) additional benefits, so unless I change my mind again soon, I'll probably be trying the game later today. :)

At 236mb downloaded, it finally went from 0% to 1%, so later really means later. :p
So how was the beta? Since I preordered over a year ago on Amazon during a $46.99 price listing it isn't worth cancelling my order to pre-purchase to play the beta.
I don't really get why the task meter bar is independent even when you're in a group. It kind of makes the grouping a pain in butt because there's no visual cue on what your group's progress is. Sure, you can ask them, but if you're grinding out tasks it get's annoying having to wonder when their bar is filled or not.
I had fun solo though, got a Ranger to about 21.
I logged on for a little while and saw some pretty significant changes from the last beta. If they're still making such major changes, I think I'm going to be avoiding these beta weekends. I'll jump back into the fray closer to release. :)
I think my life just changed...I was watching a ~40min youtube video of the GW2 Beta gameplay and such, and my g/f was watching too. She told me today she's interested in playing the game because it doesn't look complicated like the other games I play (she's watched me play Dragon Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Diablo 3 recently) and she thinks she could play that with me.
I'm gonna see how her iMac fares with Boot Camp + Win7.
I can't wait! She's never really been in to video games as much as I have, but I would love to play something like this with her. ::crosses fingers::
