Hmm, I'm trying to remember any buzz words. I thought Mark Cerny did a great job by first telling us what the specs were without using buzzwords. He said "x86", "unified memory", and "enhanced GPU" then he continued to show tech demos to illustrate what these items mean in real terms. They played the thousands of balls dropping to show what the upgraded CPU and GPU could handle. He then made it even more real by showing a demo of the physics heavy game that he is working on, Knack. They followed that up by showing what the hardware could handle graphically with an Unreal Engine 4 demo.
That breaks it down about as easy as you can get. No marketing BS, no dumb names.
Its not Sony's fault that your friends do not know what x86 means lol. Maybe they should have tuned into Jimmy Fallon's demo and left the real conference to people that know anything at all haha.
Lastly, I think people were expecting WAY too much. I was blown away by how much they showed. I thought they would get on stage, talk about how they were going to breath life into Vita, and then announce the PS4 with a few minutes of teasers. We got a crap ton of information: system specs, UI, controller, unannounced games, multiple trailers, numerous game publishers, f*ing Jonathan Blow!, and on-and-on. For a gamer, that conference was bad-***.
