Aren't you the same guy that found the cheapest computer around a few days ago and when everybody cracked on you, you said it was for a friend or something? If you're so rich why dont you give your friend some of that money to get him a better system. Personally , I think you're full of it.Quote:

Holy flying Duck, Thats one nice Computer. BTW why are you getting two mylex scsi raid controllers? that could probably control 60 devices.

Heh, you should ditch that powersupply for an Antec 400W. The overall wattage means jack sh*t, look at the combined power.
The Antec is a much better PS for his AMD.
Anyways, you know he is paying 8,000$ for a system that wont be much faster than your average 2500$ tower o' power?
And...all that money on a system and he is getting a Viewsonic flat panel? https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif

Out of curiousity... if this is for office use, and for CAD... why would he want 4.1 surround? I realize that would be great on a gaming machine, but this is for CAD and how loud can he really turn it up anyway in the office?

One thing that was a waste of money are the HD's. My Maxtor Atlas 10K III 74.3 GB SCSI HD at 10,000 cost only around 400 a piece.

But, screw the LCD. Get a Sony FW900. Lets push that baby up to 10 grand.

Yeah, and their dad's aint gonna spend $8000 on a computer to use at work either.
Because people don't get to be so rich while being so stupid.
You have a jackass who makes all sorts of **** up so he can post, "hehehe" and "check this out" 900 times in a month. Wasting all of our time. Next thing he'll be asking us how he can integrate his new Kray into his Ferrari F-55 and still be able to go 0-60mph in 1.22659784 seconds.Quote:

Talk about going over board https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/...2002/02/11.gif You do realise that one card can support 30 devices (15 per channel) and that you could put all 4 hard drives on the channel and still not lose performance, SCSI is not like IDE. What he should do is use RAID 5 (that controller supports it) with the 4 drives, that way he will have a real fast setup with fault tolerance.

Screw the Monitor all together and get a HDTV to hook that baby up to. Money doesn't seem to be a worry!
And how about that AIWA XP10 sound system that has 10 speaker surround system and that sells only in Japan to kick in with the HDTV, hey you can make your own teather at home, and charge money for people to see movies!

While that sure is a nice system, I don't like the way this thread has turned into a slagging competition. Try to play nice and comment properly. I know there are some good points being shared here, but some people just don't seem to want to keep this a happy place. We don't want this place to turn hostile again. Shut down in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
