Alien Swarm was awesome when it was just a UT2k4 mod, I'm happy to see it's been redone and released for free. :D
I'll be on tonight if any one wants to co-op.
Bleh servers are busy every time I try to install. Moar servers plz Valve.
They really need to work on a better server solution. I always get server busy whenever I try to download anything. I always end up having to pick a server in Europe.
Steam should auto balance instead of just locking you into one server.
According to the Steam TF2 forums, this is one of the achievements in Alien Swarm:

Complete 2 co-op missions online. Earns a Team Fortress 2 Parasite Hat"
It's nice that they give you other ways to earn hats so you don't have to rely on chance. I haven't been on TF2 in a while, though. I'll probably get some Alien Swarm action when I get back to my apartment with real internet (slow out here in the boonies).

Picked up Gratuitous Space Battles w/DLC for $6 and change. Tried the demo and it was pretty fun so pretty easy purchase.
The Elder Scrolls IV 66% off in celebration of quake con.

Is Stalker worth it?
If you can keep remembering that STALKER is a European made game, then you will probably enjoy it. I logged about 20 hrs in the first one, but got tired of fighting with the quest system and dealing with the inventory. Some of that was apparently fixed in the second one. I did like the atmosphere of the game and it got pretty intense at times. But $10 for both of those I think is a great deal.
