I was never really a big fan of barry (blasphemy I know) I always have been a fan of bruiser backs like Christian Okoye or Mike Alstott. Though right now I really like Brian Westbrook but even he runs people over while being really athletic.
One of my favorite tackles of all time happened to Mel just as he was catching a punt. A special teamer named Michael Bates came flying in form out of nowhere, horizontally like Superman. He hit Gray with perfect timing and must have knocked back like 5 yards. What a hit. But i think Mel did manage to hang on to the ball.:pQuote:

Bush was considered one of the top running backs in the country before breaking his leg in Louisville's opener against Kentucky in September. He was coming off a junior season in which he ran for 1,143 yards and an NCAA-leading 23 touchdowns.
He applied for a medical redshirt in case he decided to come back to school, but instead opted to enter the draft. The Raiders were happy to take a chance on him with the 100th overall selection.
"Our guys had him evaluated as a first-rounder and potentially if he would have played, a top first rounder," Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said. "So to get him in the fourth round maybe wasn't the position we needed at that time but it was more important to get a big-time playmaker like that."
The second day of the draft was a busy one for Oakland, which also traded disgruntled receiver Randy Moss to New England for a fourth-round pick.
Earlier this month, Bush took part in his first full workout since he was hurt in September, and also received a thumbs-up prognosis from James Andrews, an Alabama-based orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports injuries. He said he hopes to be full strength by June, although his doctors are targeting July.
Michael Bates... that sounds familiar. Gold medal winner in the Olympics?Quote:

You'd be watching a team play the next year and you wouldn't see certain players. You'd have no idea what ever became of them.
I remember the Raiders had an awesome D line in the eraly 90's. Howie Long, Bob Golic, Andre Townsend, and Scott Davis.
Scott Davis was an early 1st round selection who had 10 sacks playing DT in his rookie year. I was all excited about that guy. Then I never saw him again.
on Sanders
that would have been crazy, Marino & Sanders...holy!Quote:
After a couple of months in retirement, he tried to join the Miami Dolphins, which made the playoffs seven out of ten times from the 1990 to the 1999 season, but his comeback failed due to the contract dispute with the Lions.

Umenyiora had 6 sacks on Blacknabb, I need to pay attention more when watching football. Theres dudes who don't get that all season.
That one game may have earned him a Pro Bowl. Or a new fat contract. Will be interesting to see what he finishes the season with.Quote:

Reid gave his same tiresome post game speech..."this loss is on the coaching staff...I put this one on me...I should have been more prepared offensively...the play calling could have been better...we need to examine what we as coaches could be doing better...blablabla...", its the exact same thing every time. If he knows what his problems are why does he keep doing the same thing?
You are probably better aquianted with Philly's coaching, and their tendancies than I am.Quote:

There should have been a TE helping, a RB chipping him, or inside help with a guard... SOMETHING. But no... that guy was left out on an island and it should have been apparent very early on that he couldn't handle it. I mean... just how much more obvious does it have to get for a coach. That may have been the worst non-adjustment that I've ever seen.
And you are absolutely right... even if you take the blame for the loss... it means nothing if you don't remedy the issue.
It will be interesting to see next game... if the Eagles leave this guy (if the regular isn't back) isolated all on his lonesome again.
I've never liked Barry too much, either.Quote:
