Yea that game was insane. Mathias Kiwanuka is a DE converted to linebacker who had a very good showing last year at DE as a rookie. Both him, and backup DE Justin Tuck would both be starting DE's on any other team. The D coordinator had them, strahan, and osi on the field at the same time on some plays which caused a lot of problems. Tuck had 3 sacks. Our rookie cb aaron ross got the start and he looked pretty good as well. The D is finally turning into what people xpected it to be(hopefully it lasts).

But yea I can't believe they left that rookie out there on his own.

One game performance does not get someone into the Probowl. He did play a heck of a game but that poor LT was getting beat so bad I'm not sure that a lot of DEs in the league would not have had a multi-sack night.

justice is from USC, seems their program produced a lot of hype and few if any actual studs cough bush leinart white cough

edit: I guess tatupu and palamalu or whoever are pretty good.

And I have to agree with you 100% on this one. Why the adjustment wasn't made when that guy was getting whipped is beyond me. This isn't even something that takes a brilliant coach to grasp in my opinion. This is very basic thinking... if something is killing you, FIX IT!

There should have been a TE helping, a RB chipping him, or inside help with a guard... SOMETHING. But no... that guy was left out on an island and it should have been apparent very early on that he couldn't handle it. I mean... just how much more obvious does it have to get for a coach. That may have been the worst non-adjustment that I've ever seen.

And you are absolutely right... even if you take the blame for the loss... it means nothing if you don't remedy the issue.

It will be interesting to see next game... if the Eagles leave this guy (if the regular isn't back) isolated all on his lonesome again.

I still think the biggest problem the Eagles have had, and have had it since 2005, is Reids refusal to run the ball. He won't do it even if its the only thing working. He calls plays like he is playing Madden. And its the reason Mcnabb gets hurt a lot the last few years, he always has the ball in his hands.

And amazingly enough, even with his pass happy play calling, he will not spend any money to get a top flight receiver. He seems to overvalue some positions (defensive end), and undervalue others. The one time he did get a top receiver (Owens in 2004) we almost won a superbowl. So you have a QB that is always passing, against a defense that knows all you are gonna do is pass, and a bunch receivers that cannot get off a jam at the line and get open against the press.

True.

One game doesn't. But it's sure going to give him a big boost. If he even finishes out the season with average play... he'll probably get in based off his ending stats.

I'm not too sure how any other DE would do against that LT... maybe we'll get a chance to see? Especially if Reid doesn't adjust?

The jury is still out on the current crop...

But USC has produced MANY studs in the past... it's been a huge school historically for top end NFL players.

When I look at USC's team from around 1980, it's really a "whos who" of players that went on to have Pro Bowl, and Hall of Fame type careers. I mean, it's absolutely ridiculous.

So this guy today from work was trying to sell his Colts tickets to me over the phone. He sounded like a fruitcake, and when I asked him where the tickets were he said it was Upper Level row 24. I put him on hold so I could look it up. Ah, row 24! Thats only 6 rows away from the edge of the dome, and if I could walk up any higher I'd fall off the building!

In other words, my nose would be bleeding. I told him I wasn't interested, even at the $150/pair price.

"Dude, I'll be closer to the game watching it on my TV than I would be up at that height!"

He made some weird nose that sounded like a squirrel getting run over by a Mac truck before hanging up.



What's your guys take on that (or any sporting event I guess). I LOVE going to football games. I went to last years Colts v. Bengals game and we had great seats. I have wanted to go again because I love the energy and intensity of being at home games. All the fans, facepaint, costumes, cheering, etc (I do miss the drumline though from college games... I was just at Notre Dame v. Purdue last weekend [cough what a joke]). Am I a bad fan because I'm not attending a home game because of where I'd be sitting?


I'd rather stay at home and chill watching that game on my 67"HDTV. Or at least go to a game that is worth something, like a team in the Colts division (which sucks because they play Houston and Tenn again but when I'll be in Florida)....argh!

I think the highlight of this year for me so far (besides the Lions dominating) is the fact that LT is doing Vizio commercials.

Any company would pay him millions to do advertisements for them and yet he chose to go with the equivalent of the 99 Cents Only store in the electronics world. And the best part is, despite his millions, he probably DID buy a Vizio and liked it enough that he agreed to do commercials for them. He's just that cool of a dude.

Too bad I have to see the commercials about 30x a game, but it's still pretty neat.

I've watched games at the Dolphins stadium (don't know what it's called now... but used to be Joe Robbie stadium) where I had nose bleed seats. I thought that the view was excellent. A birds eye view of the action. I don't mind seats that are that far up... I have never felt far away from the action (like I do at the Coliseum or the Rose Bowl in LA). I feel like the seats are more "up" than "out"... I'm looking "down" on the action.

Same thing fro hockey I find... at the Staples Center or Arrowhead Pond, I'm close to the action with the nosebleed seats looking more "down" than anything.

The other thing is... that with this perspective... that you see a lot of stuff happening behind the play that you may not normally see. Or yuo can see the overall play developing better.

Don't mind "nosebleed" at all actually...

I went to the giants vs. packers game this season at giants stadium, I was in the top level in the corner of the end zone, I was in the middle as far as rows. You can still see everything there, you're just further away. Of course it's not as good as being closer to field level, but I'd rather see the game in person than on tv (HD). My friend turned down a free ticket to that game because he'd rather watch it on tv.

Me neither. I'm not even a Detroit fan, and he's one of my alltime favorite players. He was a homerun threat... at any point in the game.

Saw an interview with him one time where he was questioned about that. He said that he tried it ONCE in the NFL and didn't care for it.

In an age where it seems increasingly that athletes are becoming prima donas... Sanders was a welcome change of pace. I found him to be quite refreshing.

still I would rather watch on tv since you see everything and dont have to mind stupid drunks (the ones that act stupid), people getting up and down, passing food, drink lames trying to sell you junk etc... I heard beers are like $8 a pop, f-that

edit: Marvin Harrison is a throwback to the old days of non-celebrations, I think he spiked the ball ONCE on someone but I'm sure that was personal, not a celebration... I think Calvin Johnson will be the same way, more of a randy moss height combined with T.O physique and marvin harrison attitude with a jerry rice work ethic...lions made the right choice.
