I've had season tickets to the chargers for 4 years and now w/ the raiders this year (only cuz they're so cheap since they sucked this past year). Nothing beats going to a game. It really is one big party.
it's like the bolts and raiders switched teams.... bolts suck with the run and the raiders lead the nfl...
that is some o-line turn around in one offseason, damn! I thought it would be 2 or 3 years before they fixed that - guy should get a medal.
the charger-raider game after this weeks bye will be damn fun to watch....there is so much antimosity between those 2 it's ridiculous, theres usually atleast 1 stabbing and 3 brutal fights per matchup... I know a couple years back people got their cars spray painted by raider fans at qualcomm stadium with the raider emblem, there was a stabbing and a lot of fights, the fans are down right violent against eachother and I think it goes back to when the raiders were in LA....they were so close in proximity and fans on both sides could easily make the 1.5 hour commute each way and catch all the games.

Yea vairox I hear ya on how much things cost in the stadium. A bottle of water... $3, beers $6+ easily. I'd rather stay at home, see it all on HD, and drink my cheap beers and have a good time with some good company.
But every once in awhile I'll want to be in that stadium atmosphere... hearing the crowd roar, the music, the cheerleaders (I heard the Colts have 4 squads of cheerleaders, the A, B, C, and D squad. If that needs any more thought, you aren't a man.) I haven ever really had a problem with drunks, but one time last year at Notre Dame v. UCLA, I wasn't seated in the student section, so no one in our section was standing up for the whole game. My g/f was like "**** it" since she's short and can't see, so we both stood up, and some students stood up with us. Some woman a few rows behind us kept yelling "SIT DOWN" in some really scratchy Tara Reid voice... what was she going to do? Beat me up? The old guy right behind us, during half time, got my attention as my g/f went ot the bathroom and asked "can you tell her to sit down?"
Granted I understand I'm a tall individual and I ruin alot of things going to events that have lined/stadium seating, such as sporting events and movie theatres, but when this guy asked me that I looked at him and said "you'll have to ask her that yourself." He got flustered, and when my g/f came back I told her what he said. She turned around and looked at him and yelled "YOU HAVE NO TEAM SPIRIT!!!"
Friggin awesome game, awesome day, and she made fun of an old man. He shut up the rest of the game. Haha.
As far as Marvin goes, I rarely see him celebrate. I think he did it last week though... just took the ball and piledrived it into the ground (I think he was frustrated)... maybe it was last week. But he's usually quiet and composed. And skinny as ****! He's like 2% body fat... thats crazy!

Heh. I completely forgot about DVR. Last weekend I was watching the Colts game with my dad, and we would keep rewinding it and playing it in slow motion to look at things, like when Rob Morris's knee buckled and he got taken off in a stretcher. We kept watching it over and over again to figure out what exactly happened (it looked like it just kind of .... gave out). Pretty awesome, and it was fun hanging w/ my dad since he's usually not around and he didn't know how to use the DVR.
It's so weird now using the DVR knowing that if I have to take a piss, I don't have to wait for a commercial. I can pause the TV.
And I got upset last week knowing that House had started again, but I was going to miss the season opener because I would have been studying. Then I was like wait... I can record TV. HOLY @**%!

The beer thing at the stadium sucks, but that's what tailgating is for. Then you buy 2 beers before the game starts, then 2 more at half time. I can understand wanting to watch it at home too.
Vai, you should try to get out to a game at least once before you die, it's a lot different than watching it on tv.
It's $8-$10 for a cup of beer here in Oakland. I drink as much as I can before the game, but then I just end up pissing during the whole first quarter.
yeah but isn't a game like $100 a ticket even for crap seats? thats what sucks about football...i think you can still catch a baeball game for like $10 for nosebleeders.
$100 is a bit of booze for me, like beapole said you can chill at home and watch it in hd and drink cheap booze and have fun too but I know what you mean, sounds like something everyone should experience atleast once.

So yea vairox go to a game at least once... just for the experience anyway. I remember my dad taking me to Notre Dame games when I was a little kid (and when ND was friggin awesome). I wish we could have done that more often, and I am certainly doing that with my kids someday :D [maybe not for ND...]
Today on the radio the DJs were making fun of ND not getting televised since ABC decided to cover Purdue v. Ohio State (good call IMO), and said Touchdown Jesus needs to be changed to "Jesus! We need a touchdown!"
