Nice pick-up there mikey! I'm finding the Powerstream just owns the more I play with it. I replaced my Antec TP550 with the same unit you got 'cause of the stronger 12V rail, but I'm finding the 3.3V rail is much better too. Antec must really over-inflate their numbers. I can run my mem v-mod much closer to the 3.3V rail on this unit and see no ripple, it seems Antec has a way to not sag their voltage when they can't deliver current, making them look better then they perform, the OCZ just performs though! Not really 3d team info, but still, good stuff!

i'm thinking of picking up a new power supply... think the OCZ is worth the extra $$ over a Fortron 530w?

Yeah, Mike, I saw the +12v rail - 33A!:eek: - that won me over.;) Like you, I'm replacing my Antec TP 550W - it's going into my 2nd rig! The OCZ PSU looks solidly built, haven't installed it yet though. Gonna loom/sleeve the cables before putting that sucker in. :cool:

YES!!!!

The FSP530 has the same ratings as the Antec, essentially, just a lot cheaper. Wish I would've given them more credit when a psu of those specs met my needs. Could've saved a few $'s on what became a backup. With all the demands I put on my system with heavy o/c's, v-mods, etc, the OCZ just seems bullet-proof. At this point in time the only supply I might think is better is PCP&C, but it's rail adjustments are much more difficult to get at. BTW, if you do tweak the rails at all, do so with a light touch, those pots are sensitive litte buggers. Most won't need to do that, OCZ pre-sets a bit above rated volts, but if you do, they only take a little nudge.

Seriously, I have never just flat-out raved about a psu. If it met my needs I was happy. This thing is just the bomb though. :D


edit to add: 5 VSB is just stand by power, 10W is plenty! Just powers peripheral discretes for wake-up sensing. :)

flash to XT and you'll have 7500+

I bought a 6800GT tonight for my other system FX-51 and bad news for my ATi X800XT-PE
Guys when i ran the timedemo Benchmark on the 6800GT@ 400/1100 im getting 48.6 FPS on 1600X1200 ULTRA quality on my FX-51, which in turn means that its smoking my X800XT-PE by 8 FPS and this sytem is using a older chipset and is underclocked by 250MHZ!!!

MarcDaddy, I ain't surprised by your findings as it's a known fact that nV has always been better at OGL.;) It's how it performs in STALKER and FEAR that I'm concern about as these are DX9 games....should do well, but how well?:confused:
