Euro style games are a bit different then western games...just like Japanese games are different. That's all I meant. It's not going to be just a run and gun game, and it's not an oblivion w/ guns (ala Fallout 3) either.

The mp game Plain Sight is 80% at $2.00

Mount and blade warband on sale. Giant bomb has a long video of the gameplay. Looks fun. Running a pike through someone looks fun :)
I just bought it :)
I bought it also, however I am not live streaming it :D
Lol! Well I was showing squirrel meat the game.. It was easier to just broadcast the slaughterfest instead of trying to explain it.
Anyway, the mp is pretty fun. It is definitely a change of pace from bad company 2. But, holy cow! The single player game is FREAKING MASSIVE. I have no idea what I am doing, but there is so much reading and the world is huge. Quite a bit of character and party management, but I don't know yet if any of it is helpful or really required, since a lot of the battles is justiming skills.
At any rate, this was a good purchase for me.
Yeah it was pretty cool seeing the game in action from his broadcast. It looks like a really big game and the multiplayer looked really cool. It was cool seeing him do a headshot with a bow and arrow or get one through the throat haha. Or charge in a huge mass of people with his lance and then get taken off his horse and get slaughtered lol. The only thing i didnt like about it was the graphics looked pretty mediocre at best but if the gameplay is good ill consider it.
Awaiting the update from astros before purchase....
Apparently some of the mods out there improve the graphics, taken from http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.p...,122423.0.html

The gameplay is good. After toying with the SP part, I am really intrigued by the game and have been reading on their site to try and figure some of it out. I built my army up to 3 guys, had some loot then went to the merchant zone and saw mega loot there...like a huge war horse and massive lance that cost 100K when my guy barely has enough for a wooden stick. :)
Here's a lovely quote taken directly from their FAQ:
LOL well I am definitely putting some skill points into that!Quote:
Slow and steady Maces, cudgels, clubs, and other hefty bludgeoning weapons offer several advantages in controlling the battlefield. Additionally you can sell incapacitated enemies to Ransom Brokers.
Picked up Warband, played some MP. It's pretty fun!
I'd played Mount & Blade previously but I could never get into it because of the steep learning curve (not of combat, but of the insane single player mode). I think I'm actually going to make an effort to learn how to play this time!
I am gonna hunker down with it monday morning with a giant cup of coffee and have at it.
omg the single player is massive..I agree. I've got my army up to 25 guys and have done a couple of quests. I had to beat down some villagers to get them to pay some taxes, then raided a couple of bandit hideouts. I just got through playing some siege and got the last kill of the round with a spear to some guy's face while climbing the ladder...so thought I'd end tonight on a good note :)
The game actually doesn't look that bad IMO. the gameplay more than makes up for it. The sounds of your sword slicing someone versus the sound of your spear sticking into them is nice.
What the hay is this game?:
Poker Night
Strong bad, heavy, bunny from sam & max and Tycho playing poker? Sounds like a trippy dream I would have.
Posted it in another thread also, but Red Orchestra free from Logitech.

Warning you need facebook.
Mount & Blade Warband is a bit addicting...I woke up with my face on the keyboard this morning in the middle of a siege of Sargoth..I think I played it 6 hrs straight. I've got a little fiefdom, and am currently courting a couple people, have some noble prisoners, and a massive war party. The single player is pretty intense, but crazy as well because you have to figure everything out on your own.
Blood Bowl is 10$. Anybody else thinking of getting it? Seems pretty good for the price. You can be Orks so it can't be that bad.
I heard somewhere that a new version of the game is coming out soon that upgrades a lot of it. Haven't looked into it myself yet, but it may be worth checking out before you buy just to make sure this weekend deal isn't a fire sale on an outdated version.
Of course, even if it is, $10 is a pretty good deal.
Blood Bowl is a pretty solid game and I would recommend it for $10. Just be aware that the game is a VERY faithful adaptation of the tabletop game and can also be brutally difficult.
