Thanks for the update Mikey , -yes the Vga
cooler is VERY easy to install on the GT. :)
Wow, all this updating going on, thought I'd post my latest. Congrats btw on the 20k, bisonator! Gotta love breaking those nice round numbers. :)
So, I really have just started playing with this setup. Haven't pushed it a bit yet, but I wanted to make sure I could run 2x512 ok for gaming before I go on a benchmark tear with higher htt, cpu clocks and 2x256. It runs fine with the double sided 512's. :D The curiousity was killing me too so I ran a little '01 with this config, here's what I got:
CPU: Athlon 64 3700+
Stock Speed of CPU: 2400
Overclocked speed of CPU: 2520
MotherBoard: Epox 8KDA3J
Ram: 2x512 Mushkin LII 3500 2-2-2-5
Video Card: Sapphire X800 vivo=>XT
Stock Core of Video: 520
Actual Core of Video: 580
Stock Mem of Video: 560
Actual Mem of Video: 600
Cooling Used: cpu - Prometia MachI, gpu - maze4-1/172W pelt
Your scores with links:

These cpu's cook! It looks like I'll be able to get either a BBA or another Asus X800XT early this week for a decent price, if they actually get delivered. Once I get that, and get it all mod'ed and insulated, I'll go ahead and see where this cpu can go. More to come, but since 30k is a landmark for me I wanted to get this in the db. :D
oh nice score, with that prometeia, I really hope theres ALOT more left in that 3700+ eshbash got better overclocks and higher score than that AIR cooled! not a bad start for 210fsb either! I think you can easily get at least 260x10 then youll take out 32k marks :D If your cpu is good enough for the next multiplier then youll have 260x11=2.86GHz! thatll bump ya up to like 34k then :D wheres jetforcegiminix by the way? I hope he didnt have a disaster, he said he would be done testing his prometeia hours ago   you did badly own your p4 easy though! :D what was that p4 at? 4.2GHz? 2000 marks ahead of the p4 and the a64 is single channel and a much lower fsb not to mention over 1.5GHz lower clocks LOL
Holy crap! Looks like eshbach's score's gonna fall soon....till he get the DFI board. Interesting match between the top two....perhaps I oughta stock up on my coke and potato chips since I've got a front row seat.:p :DQuote:

Tbird: the only tweaks I did was set the D3D and OGL detail sliders in the omega control panel to "Best Performance". (I think the tests also came just after my regular defrag.)Quote:

I dont think I can hit 20k with my ti4200 but once my 9500s arrive, ill go for 22k :D
Seems I'm top for the 9800 class for both '01 and '03, shame there's only about 8 others! lol
Also, something else very interesting, I am 25 overall in '01, and 26th has almost identical GPU clocks to me, ~100points less, and 1.5GHz more P4. All these stats to play with...
Nice score mikead_99! looks like
you and eshbash are going to be jumping
around the #1 spot. Crank it up!:D
i have to ship my computer today...
:(
if only i could have moved last week instead of next week...
well mikead_99, you've probably got an easy 2 weeks to have #1, so go for it :D
if i can't be first, i'd rather see you there than anyone else... but i'll be back come 12 september. At least i don't have to worry about keeping AMD on top now ;)
great score, keep them coming.
Awesome, simply awesome!!! Good job!Quote:
Thanks for the support guys. :) I love how these cpu's go! That run was only 1/2 tweaked, and I haven't used more then stock VCore(1.55V on this board). I have no clue atm how much further it should go, I've heard that the board I have can limit your o/c, I'll find out whether that's true or not over the next few days, but I pre-ordered the DFI too, just in case. For $90 for this board, I just couldn't wait any longer to play with one of these chips. :D It looks like I can be happy with this setup until 90nm FX-xx.
I know you all are looking forward to eshbach and the DFI, but the real fun is going to start when he puts that under phase-change cooling. I think we'll end up keeping each other on our toes. I'm teh noobie on this platform, and I know I've got a learning curve to make it through. When it's all said and done though, I'm hoping to see at least 2 of us Sharks on page 1 of the Orb!
Thanks again. I'll post results from time to time just to keep everyone in the picture before I get to my "final" score.
edit to add: @ eshbach: I'm kind of glad you are packed up atm, I've got a lot of little personal things to deal with this week, that keeps the pressure off to try to match you run for run over this period. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with everything nice and cold though. :)
all kinds of tweaks for A64:Quote:

after 4.5(yeah that's wright mobo was broke cause the power went of during biosflash, got a new one after a half hour talking to the guy at the shop) and 1 format later, it finaly recognizes my cpu again:D
eh... killed the ol 2600+ while doinga custom mount i tihnk. eerything starts up except no beeps and the screen is black. the fans and prommy and everything works just no beep from speaker and the screen is black...:(
try the motherboard with normal cooling and a different processor....Quote:

maybe you should just break down and buy the mounting kit.
i just relaly dont want to pay $100 for a piece of metal and 2 piece of plastic that costed $3 to make.... i'm asian so i want to save as much money as possible ;)
if you kill one more chip you'll have paid for it already....Quote:

@ JetForce Gemini X: Have you tried running it up with just air cooling since you had your problem? It's a complete pita to strip down and do that, but it's probably something you should do. Hope it's not as bad as you think.
@ mikeysg: I'm going to keep your fingers nimble here. ;) From here on out I'll show some more scores while I'm working this thing up, but won't post any more for Team page updates until I think I'm done. Thought I may as well have you put me back at #1 now though in case my time there is short. *looks over shoulder at eshbach*
I've still got more room with the cpu, haven't tweaked all that hard, and I'm still waiting on my new PE, but those raw clocks sure do a lot! I'm finding this Epox board to be a pure flake with VCore, I think it's a sure bet I'll use my DFI when it gets in. I'd have a 2.7GHz 11x246 run for you, but this board seems to want to give and take .2V-Core depending on the multi I set and it gave it back when I tried to make that run. Didn't really need it then, thanks.
Anyway, here's tonight's damage:
CPU: Athlon 64 3700+
Stock Speed of CPU: 2400
Overclocked speed of CPU: 2760

Mike, you're updated!;) That's a hella score dude - 2k bump in '01! *eyes PC x800XTPE*
you didn't go for 33k when you were that close? ;)Quote:

great score, looks like it's time for me to sit quietly for a while (hopefully shipping on the phase change unti won't take forever).
lol, it was late! No 33k for me last night!Quote:

...and based on the scores you get with your clocks, you'll be making plenty of noise here soon enough. Make sure you get that unit shipped via 3-legged mule & cart.......just to be safe you know. Oh, and don't forget to let some college cutie take you away from all this for a while! lol, j/k. I really can't wait to see how you crank up the numbers.
Probably no real updates from me for a few days now...I need a night off from fighting this board's VCore issue, and to knock on wood, prep my new VC if it comes in. 3-day weekend coming though!
Thanks for the update mikey!
i think i'll need either 270x10 or 305x9 to make a run at 33k... if i can do that on air i'd be very happy... we'll see what happens when the DFI gets here. I'm guessing with the new card and a decent mobo you can take down 34k '01 and maybe 16.5k '03. I probably won't be able to touch that with air.Quote:

Think it would be better to ask if the dorm allows you to have compressors and such in your room or just get it and wait to see if they come knocking down my door?
Don't ask 'em! They allow mini-fridges, right? :DQuote:

yes, but only "approved" mini-fridges...Quote:

they also don't allow routers, but i figure if i put it on my secondary NIC and use my PC as a gateway they'll never see it :)
how come i wasn't updated jet:(
did you post in proper format?Quote:
