Is getting tinkers or not all that the -advmethods tag affects? I admit I took mine off for the chance at grabbing some big point tinkers. I'm a bit tired of having over 200 WUs and less than 5500 points. :( Altho I'm happy just to be contributing to the cause - beating cancer is near and dear to my heart.
Looks like I am catching up to a couple of you guys. I have been setting goals by looking at who has X amount of points above me and then try to reach them in a given amount of time. I thought it funny to see a post from you BlueOval since I set my goal at passing you within by the end of the weekend. I also set my eyes on passing vengeance next week. I know its not a competition, but it is fun to set these personal little goals. I have my main rig folding near 24/7, just through together a 2100+ for my girlfriend and have it folding, have another rig folding every once in a while (amd @ 2ghz) and will be attempting to add a couple of small-fries to the mix... some older rigs that I might be able to set up.
Sorry BlueOval, I don't know the answer to your question or else I would help, but hopefully one of the more experience sharky's can help out soon. I put the -force SSE in my desktop shortcut, but I don't know if has done anything. I will say that I don't think I have had any of those 160point monsters since I added that.

heh Looks like you already did! I've been having my old XP1800+ running pert near 24/7 and had to give my 2100+ a break while waiting for new RAM. Got a third machine going now, but not 24/7. The third one needs to be a bit quieter. After I get some more Panaflos or maybe Silenx's I'll have 3 mchines goin full tilt. Then maybe I can repass ya. ;)Quote:

I have the forceasm, forcesse, and verbosity 9 tags all on. Took off the advmethods tag; but so far no 160-pters, although I did have a couple 123?-pters right after I did that. I also used to have Gromacs@Home as my preferred WU, but have since switched back to either F@H or No Preference. Anyone know which is better as far as points go?
Yeah, we made 46, but looks like we will cap out around 37 unless we get MORE PEOPLE to fold! 90 of 222?? What happened to the rest of you? :(

It has to be hard folding in arizona; must get hot there. I had to stop my 2nd rig from folding full time because it was getting too hot and I didn't want to push it yet. My main rig went on a small hiatus as I live in the bay area in Cali, and my thermometer was telling me that my room was a blazing 38.5C!!! old bay area apartment have no a/c and are shite for insulation. My rig wasn't getting overly hot, just about 46-48C while folding, but it was making my bedroom unbearable, so I turned it off and went and bought a fan for the room. Cool fan though, even has a remote and a timed shutoff.Quote:

I just got one of the 249 point tinkers. It's 16% complete and has about 41 hours left to go.
I have had my 2.4 ghz celery running for over 18 days right now without a restart and has been folding the whole time(24/7). It's overclocker to 2.56ghz and for some reason runs at 50c the whole time.
41 hours!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: Even so, wish I could get a few of those. Davnport, you said you had a goal of passing me. What I want to know is how you're so close to me in points, but have done less than half the WUs I have. :(

Probably a combination of you getting the little small pointers and me getting mostly 71 pointers. I do get quite a few 120ish ones too... I can't exactly remember how much or what protein they were. I have to say though, I haven't had a protein take longer than a day and a half. I think I got one of those 160pointers and took maybe 3-4days (can't remember) but I haven't received one since. This heat here in the bay area is killing me though. I have no AC and the sun hits my room as it sets. It gets really really hot in there. Had to buy a decent fan.Quote:

hehe, I noticed that you started producing a little more;) I don't know if that is because I am catching up, or because I was just not paying attention and you haven't sped up at all (so just my imagination), but either way, I think my goal of catching you by this weekend is shot!!! Based on the number of work units and points you have, check your log file, I would guess your sending partial work units. Meaning if your overclocked, your system may not be completely stable, or sometimes work units are sent that will "bust" prior to completing for what ever reason, even if your system is stable.Quote:
