I think what SA is saying is that by re signing BB to an extended contract in the middle of the scandal they are basically saying what he did is ok and they stand by him, the endorse him and what he did despite what they verbally say. Actions speak louder than words sort of thing, I really don't understand what is so hard to comprehend about that one.
What I meant was, any owner out there would re-sign belichick in a second even though he cheated. If the pats let him go there would be a bidding war by other teams to get him. No one cares because he's so good so he gets a free pass. If he sucked and cheated then he'd probably be out of the nfl. It also helps that everyone sweats belichick so hard, the media didn't make a huge deal out of it and pressure him to quit coaching or anything.Quote:

What would you say about a corporation giving a raise to some executive who stole from another company? would pretty much speak to their ethics and moral compass wouldn't it? of course companies do this all the time, which is why they aren't highly thought of in the first place.
No one blames them for re signing him, like you guys said he won (the team did anyway) 3 superbowls, but he is also a cheater and to rehire a cheater basically says that you think it's ok because you want more.

Of freaking COURSE he re-signed him. You'd have to be a moron not to. People will forget about the video tape thing by the end of the year. Winning another Super Bowl will last forever. If he did the "right thing" and got rid of him, people would be mocking the choice for the next decade.
