Congrats KaoTiK, you finaly got over 18K.:) What did it for you.
Extra overclockage on the 9700's core. 365 instead of 357. I took the computer out to the garage. :DQuote:

I figure once I get Win2k I will go for 18.5+, because that score is with a very dirty unformatted drive, not clean drivers (many reinstalls), DX9.0b, and no WinXP tweaks done whatsoever.
Well, you reached your goal, but it is always nice to add a little more to it.:DQuote:

Indeed. Maybe if I get the ramsinks back on there I can break 19k. Actually not maybe... I will. :)Quote:

I havn`t desided yet if I`m going to use the Thermotake Giant 11 or a Iceburg 4 with some monster sinks on my ram to cool my 9800, It would be nice to get 20K with it.;) :)Quote:

EDIT: Just checked the 3DMark Team site, 17.8k, haven't you OCed the 9800 yet?
Yes I made that run at 425/365, but if you noticed it was a run with my fsb at 185 and the only tweaks I did was just slide the performance bar all the way to the left, I`m waiting on my 2500+ and new ram before I do any serious 3D Marking, also I guess I had better get a pci card before I flash it to a pro. ;)Quote:

Ah, so you were limited by FSB, didn't notice that.Quote:

I didn't tweak either, can't be bothered, heh, I've tweaked before, using guides and ****, but noticed no difference whatsoever, so I said to hell with tweaking.
I'd love to pick up a 9800 Pro, and I would... if there weren't next gen cards coming up. :D
I have spent twice as much for this 9800, then I have for any video card I`ve ever owned and I exspect it, to last me at lease a year and a half.:DQuote:

I have a question to all you hardcore 3dmarkers ;). Im at 19072 points at the moment, with a ~3month old xp pro install, dx 9.0 and cat 3.7 drivers, will i see 20k with a clean win 2000 install, cat/omega 3.2, dx8 ?
Im asking because im too lazy to rip out the harddrive in my backup computer and do a fresh win2000 install just to gain 200 points. So what do you say, any chance for a ~900 point difference with win2000,dx8.0,cat/omega 3.2 .
I don't think you're going to get 900 points by doing that alone. You're going to have to apply every tweak in the book and then maybe you will get what you want. 900 points on a rig that is maxed hardware wise is very hard to get. I can usually pickup between 500-750 on the various tweaks I use.
I do believe you can get more out of your card however. Have you maxed it?
Damn, it would be nice to finally see 20k. Well i might try it anyway and serach the net for tweak tips.Quote:

The core on my 9800SE seams to be a POS :( . 440, any more and it will trow me to the desktop, it may be the combination high FSB, CPU speed and high GPU clock that makes it unstable.
I may redo the GPU HS installation, im not sure i got it 100% right so that might get me a few more MHz on the core.
