Yeah my rigs finally started acting right. Although remember I've got 4 3.06 Xeons each folding 2 consoles at the moment that will be gone by Friday. I have to deploy them to a clients site on Friday.:(

But I'll still have about 26Ghz of intel power left.:) I've got to get more rigs.:D

Yup, missed you guys! :D I'm here to stay.

Right now I have 28GHz of full time folding, a half dozen 2 GHz part-timers that are worth 1k a week when I can sneakernet them on my jumpdrive (no direct net connection possible).

I also have another full time 3.4 GHz P4 coming on line as soon as I get back from vacation in two weeks -- I just hope none of my rigs go down while I'm gone! Final new rig this summer will be another dual Xeon when the new ASUS boards are available.

Oh, and does anybody know the name of the program that allows you to download more than one WU at a time? I might need to make use of it. Actually, it probably won't matter much. My dad is making me shut down my computer at night. :( So there goes my 24/7 folding. :(

You can get 10 workunits into the queue at a time if you just select the G@H option in advanced options, then select the minimize network connection option. No other software needed. You get timeless WU, mostly gromacs but an occational tinker.

Hehe! I've been averaging 11-12k/week the past month or so, and will try to increase that a bit after I get back from vacation (starts Thursday!).

What's the method for getting work sent in for computers without an internet connection? I know someone posted about this somewhere. :D


Could someone hook me up with the info?

Ditto, I have a rig sitting around that I can't connect to the net right now, but would like to have it folding. I'm guessing from what Beast wrote, it has something to do with selecting G@H, then maybe copying the work folder and transfering that? Am I close? Thanks guys

and vertices, man I can not believe the day you had yesterday. That was unbelievable!!! I know that after this week you'll lose a little computing power, but every little bit helps. I am working to get a few more rigs up in the next week or two. We need more active members though.

For multiple (10) F@H WUs at a time:

On a computer with an Internet connection just set up a new FAH console with the advanced options: G@H and minimum interent connection selected. Download the WUs until the queue is full and let it download the core needed (usually 78).

Then move the whole folder to a machine without internet using a jump drive, or zip disk, or whatever. Then start it up on that machine. Just be careful on windows 2k machines that you click on disconnect the jump drive before pulling it out or you may lose some stuff on the jump drive (like finished WUs).

When the WUs are all done, just transfer the work folder and queue file back to a connected machine that has an extra F@H console (also set to G@H/minimum connection) and start up that console. I usually use a send all tag to insure that all WUs are sent before the queue is reloaded, then I remove the tag and reload the queue.

I keep 10 folders full of new work folders/queue file on my jump drive so I can feed all my disconnected machines. It gets real easy with some practice.

If any of this doesn't make sense just let me know and I'll provide further details. :D

Edit: the last couple days the servers for the G@H option have been hard to connect up to.

Do I need to have the machine ID number set to something different from my other consoles?



And all I have to do is take the whole console folder, move it to the other machine; wait on it to do work and then transfer it back to the machine with a connection right? :D

Yeah, they've been problematic for a couple days, try -advmethods tag and you might get a single unit to experiment with.

Yes, set it to a number greater than the consoles running on your machine so you can do that stuff without disrupting your current folding.

Yes, although it is easier just to leave a copy of the extra console stuff on the connected machine and the non-connected and just move the work folder and queue file, which is all that is really necessary to move the WUs around.

It only seems to be getting worse. I pulled the celeron out of its desk and its now running at 51c. But my rig, the xp one it now running at 58-60c. What do you guys think, should I underclock it a little or what. Any ideas appreciated.
