I hope you do get those benches in this weekend. I've really been wanting to see what the cascade can do. You are going to have a blast with that.....I'm a little jealous. :) You gotta get some pics when you run that.

I'm going to go for something new when I run too....I've got the spare M1 now, so that'll be the gpu. I'm really considering some DI on the cpu, since I'll have to bench with out of the case anyway. It won't be as cool as running a cascade, but it looks like a fun way to go too. BTW, I solved my fastwrites issue. PCI-E doesn't have fastwrites, does it? :) I saw the Ultra-D in stock, as well as an X850XT-PE and just went for it. I figure by selling my VIVO, X800XT-PE, and a couple of AGP mobo's I have around I can actually cover cost and then some, so what the hell. We're about to see a mass dumping in the classifieds. :D

why DI? put the LS on the X850 and LN2 on the CPU and you'll quite seriously have a shot at #1 '01.

and i might be interested in some of that stuff... i keep telling myself to wait until summer when: A) i have income B) i have time.... but this X800 i just sooo bad...

ln2 sometimes actually gets *too* cold and could fry, err freeze your hardware :eek: dry ice on your cpu sounds like a great idea, its almost as cold as 2 stage cascade and probably as good if not better than your single stager. Use that prom of yours for the gpu's core and dry ice the cpu and 40k would be a very doable goal :D maybe even 41k, make sure to use the newest 5.1 cats too! also youll need to fix your dragon bug

eshbach, that is an interesting thought. Even more interesting is a -80C cascaded X900 and an LN2'ed FX-57. :D Team Sharky would = pwnage, and prolly hw killers, lol. I think my first go at any cooling like that is going to have to be DI though, for a lot of the reasons TBird mentioned. But that is definately a path to look into in the future. Plus, I know you need a canister for LN2 and I have no idea where to get that or the LN2....I think I'll be finding that out though.

TB, 40k is reasonable with the stuff I have on hand already. The LS gets me a little more clocks than seen here yet, all I need to do is get the prommie on the vc. I'll get a 40k+ posted here before any DI runs cause I'll want to figure out what the gpu will do on phase before I run the DI. I'll do that with the LS on the cpu so 40k should be a breeze. From what I've seen, the DFI's have no dragon issues, I think that's taken care of.

I'm a little passed toying with the expendable idea now, I asked Chilly1 to drum me up one of his cpu tubes. Should have it in hand before I have the time to put it to use. :D

How much could I stand to gain when my gskill 2x256 la comes and say I get 285x9=2.57GHz? Think 24k will be possible at 410/325? What if I had say a 9800pro/xt at 500/400 would it be enough to balloon to 26k despite the cpu bottleneck?

i think yoru goign to find that it wasnt your ram holding you back.

i'd put my money on vengance01 taking #2 from me right now.

Vegence will need win2k and tweaks to break even 30k, hes at 28k now I last heard. anyway 289x9=2.6GHz is what I bench at with my new ram :D big improvement over 262x9 with my old ram! I can actually bench and even complete superPI at 300x8 with ras-cas3 too(!!!!) but 11MHz more ram clocks doesnt come close to making up for 200MHz higher cpu clocks. I may not even go Venice so soon now that I have newfound winny power! I will need a 10x multi Venice, maybe even 11x if they are doing over 3GHz with ease. a 290x10 Venice will be only 290MHz faster than my winny(plus 30-50MHz if its faster clock for clock) over my 289x9 winny, this is only about 12% more cpu power, may not even be worth it unless I can sell my winny and pay only slightly more for Venice. I should be complaining about winny ondie controller, but appearently it handles 2x256mb very well just doesnt like 2x512mb. I will soon break 24k with my softmodded 9500np and update it here. I broke 11.5k with my mx440, will try my ti4200 next, 20k is gonna be very close if not broken :eek:

update: broke 11551 with my mx440, will update my sig soon, time to try my ti4200 :eek:

Vengance should be able to get at least 32k considering he'll have my chip...

hardware is one factor, tweaking, OS, ram, mobo is another thing. Id like to see what he gets, but ill tell you hes at 28k now.

anyway either my winny and/or ti4200 just arent scaling too well :( I gained only 500 marks with 240MHz more cpu and 27fsb more! I did experience ~1300 mark gain at 640x480 though. When im done with this ti4200, itll be ti200, ti500 then on to my 9700 :D

he got an x850xt pe. with a dfi nf4 ultra d, and he might be buying my winchester, so id put some nice money on him.

my x850xt pe should be in sometime next week, now just have to decide on either 3500 or 3200 winnie, now if i can unlazy myself and find a day or 2 of time to do some hardcore benching i think me and vengance are gonna have a nice race :D

yeah just forgot that veng just got a gpu pelt, me thinks im screwed in 03,05 unless my pe clocks extremly well on water

well i've got a new X800XT-PE and a phase change cooler (Kryotech G2) for it on the way.

might have to do some non-cascade runs for '03/'05 to keep my spot. should be interesting.

620 is terriable? thought it was average for water, but didnt the ram do like 620 and thats without the change ram timing tweak to gain like 50MHz higher ram clocks? for 2001 its gonna come down whoever has the best cpu clocks, tweaks and win2k. for 2003 and 2005 its up to the gpu. I will be benching in the cruiserweight round, that being softmodded 9500np and possibily 9800p oneday if I find a godly clocker for cheap

who cares about 01 anymore really.... for that point exactly. Your card is a good 5 years older than mine and i only got you by 2k... in other more realistic accurate benchmarks like 03 and 05 its more evenly spread.
