I'm quite familiar with the science behind this project and can assure you 100% that this project in no way involves or uses animals. I would not be involved if it were otherwise. These projects simply simulated the way that various small strands of nucleic acids go from a linear state to a functional 3D folded state over a very short period of time, i.e. a few to a few thousand nanoseconds.
