In other news, I've been back for a couple of weeks now so I'm back to producing some actual results (after being down since I was separated from my computer by 1000+ miles). Hopefully we can get more people back up and running with school starting back up and people getting to college and getting their faster connections! (like me :D)
Either way...keep up the great work team. We really have been doing a good job (not GREAT...but good). :)
I put all my Folding rigs on Black Sheep Forums' team. We're up to 549 with only 8 active members. 3 months ago we weren't even in the top 1000.
Still have 2 rigs running SETI, when/if it ends I'll switch one back to this team.

P4 2.8G (only run 1 instance, it's my fiance's, Mom's computer and the stock cooling is too quiet, runs 55-60C)

Figured out how to run it as a service, added my Mom's 1.4G (Tualatin) Celeron. Should add ~50 points/day.
Well at least until the weekend when/if my brother disables it again. Is there are way to password protect it so it can't be disabled or shutdown?? She has XP Home.

And to add to that, how does he disable it? The only two ways I know of stopping the Folding service are "net stop /service" and through the task manager. If you want to stop someone from stopping the process, just change the name to something inconspicuious.Quote:

He's a programmer, so he's not exactly a n00b. He knows both ways of shutting it down. I previously used the graphic version. My mom claims her computer is slow at times, even thought I set it to idle and use only 90%. You're not going to notice Folding running just surfing the web or playing lotto games. She has 448MB RAM, 1.4G Celeron. The bottleneck in her system is the HD, it's a WD 9GB 7200 RPM. Mobo has BX chipset, only ATA66. Might have to get her a new HD and ATA 100/133 card for Christmas.Quote:

Thing is there's no way of hiding CPU usage in the task manager. Even if you changed the name you'd still see the CPU usage listed under processes. Uninstallung the program would also work. So the only solution would be to protect it. She leaves her computer on 24/7 so there's no reason to not leave it running.

Luckily I still got mine going...seems to be doing pretty well (especially since it is only one! :)).
