Well I'll clarify some, both games you team up with your buddies to kill waves of zombies. So they are essentially very similar in concept, however I feel that Killing Floor is "watered down" because:
L4D has bigger and more maps
L4D has much better graphics and sound
L4D has more enemy types and variety
L4D has more options with guns
L4D is much easier IMO to setup multiplayer games
Granted, this is all just my opinion, but pretty much everything Killing Floor does, L4D2 does better.
Not taking anything away from Killing Floor, its a good game in its own right, however coming from an unbiased position where I've purchased both games only a day apart, I don't see myself putting many hours into Killing Floor since I also have L4D2.
