You rich people and your money man... Upgrading whenever you guys feel like it... I'll probably just buy an NF7(-S) and better RAM and after that I won't and can't upgrade for a looong time UNLESS if my dream comes true :p (try figuring it out)Quote:

I checked newegg and they have the a 64 xp3200 cpus for $404. I cant find any mobos there but if they have, it may be perhaps $150. Thats about $550-600 for cpu and mobo. expensive but not prohabative and not much more than buying a 9800xt. id rather go athlon64 anyday over a radeon9800xt but then id rather buy a new 150 gallon fish tank over that :D
I would be very picky about what A64 board to get... They even have a sub $100 A64 board... The Gigabyte K8VT800M
i don't think it's worth getting a board less than the shuttle, which is about $136 if i remember correctly. after that, most of the NF3 boards seem to be pretty even, it's just a matter of features.
One of the problem with the A64 3200 mobo's that the AGP isn't locked, right?:confused: I read a review somewhere that mentions this as part of the chipset weakness. Is it true?:confused: The A64 3200 cpu and mobo are the only components I have to get IF I wanna upgrade.
Also, the A64FX51 mobos required ECC ram which make 'em quite expensive too.:( If I were to go down this route, I'd have to get new ram, mobo and the cpu, mucho $$$. :eek:
Gonna have to think real hard about it, still, my rigs have handled everything I've thrown at them without a hitch, so, I don't feel any urgency to upgrade.;) (Trying to be rational here guys, help me out:) )

You do not need to be upgrading at this time and paying premium prices, wait for the prices to come down, besides your too lazy to put it in your computer and if you did get it, it would just sat there and collect dust. :DQuote:

Yeah Yeah...I just read that :( No worries though. I know the 3.4EE and the prescott will kill the FX. It's going to go back and forth until 2nd quarter next year and then AMD is going to run out of tricks. They have had a very sweet run, but it's not going to last long.
I seriously doubt if prescott is going to do well or not... I have a feeling that prescott will be like nVidia's FX. Yep just wait until 3.4 EE... by then AMD will have more tricks up their sleeves
