yeah man that was a fun time
ah, finally, bumped to #3
now...
should i publish a score to take #2 back? i know i resigned and all, but seeing as i haven't been deleted yet, i might as well have a good score up there...
decisions decisions...
i'll give it a few days and see how it looks :)
good score rabid, but i know you guys can get another 2k out of that setup. ;)
oh deff the score is a tad low for the clocks but we got really bored of benching, so were taking a while off and modding his case for the time beingQuote:

Well, i think the chip deffinatley had more in it... considering it can still do 3ghz right now, under normal water, my ram just wont allow it, and i dont feel like running deviders, maybe once my ocz gets here ill just run 300x10 1:1 for 24/7 useage...
Also, i didnt wanna vmod my video card so thats another thing holding us back, the cold temps helped out very little.
GPU block results
Before
Maximum detectable 444Mhz GPU
100% stable bench clocks 434Mhz
After
Maximum detectable 459Mhz GPU
100% stable bench clocks between 450-455Mhz
Temp Idle before ~ 42-44C
Temp load before ~ high 60's, low 70's?
Occasional Temps over 105C because of problems with stock cooling. (press down on it ~ 5 seconds and temps went back to "normal")
Temp Idle Now ~ 35C
Temp Load Now ~ 42C
CPU temp is down ~1C as well.
Eric
It looks like I might at least be posting a new 2k5 score soon :D It appears I beat my old 6800GT@Ultra score. If what they say about the 5.6's is true I could be at about 6400. I've not got a full 2k3 run yet (got 12699 but some of the tests were with lower GPU because I accidentally had ATI tray set to automatic OC)
Eric
New 2k5 score
6015
CPU cooling - Swiftech 6002
GPU cooling - Maze4
CPU Sandiego 3700+ @ 2.85Ghz (2.2Ghz stock)
X800XL @ 459/565
motherboard: DFI Nf4-Ultra d
ram: PQI Turbo PC4000 @260
grats on the new scores man, really nice scores with that card.. ati pwns nvidia in 3dm... its not even funny.
PS: been awhile since its been updated eh?
I was getting lower scores so I did not update it. That was fixed with the 5.6's and GPU block. I'm still about 300 points behind the 6800GT@Ultra in 2k3.Quote:

Ive read that the 5.6's actualy kinda suck, even after all this anticipation of them being really good...
Im still using 5.1's
Well, all you hardcore 3DMark benchers and nV fans oughta keep your eyes peeled for this, especially OpStar :p :

Launch : 22nd of June
nV 7800GTX launched on 22nd June! I wonder if ATi's gonna launch the R520 (Fudo) after this....coz I believe they've been playing the waitin' game....;) :D
Well i guess we will be waiting to see how available they are, and how much they cost, and how well they preform...
then youll see a x850xt for sale.
yeah....pretty sure that ill be sticking with this card for a while. and how much are those supposed to retail for ?
looks like i'm not going to buy a x800xl on the 25th :pQuote:

Most likely the prices are going to go down a lot with that card so i'll probably be able to afford a better video card or processor :p
I think a Chinese site posted the '05 score for the 7800GTX, about 50% more than a 6800U I think. Here's the link :
http://www.hardspell.com/news/showco...?news_id=14305
mikeysg, can you update my score.... its a few posts back.
I've got a 2k5 score in there too ;)
so the 7800gtx is indeed 50% faster than the 6800u? If the 6800u scores 6k than the 7800gtx gets 9k! Thats hard to believe since the 7800gtx is basically a 24 pipe verson of the 6800gt and we know 50% more pipes does NOT mean 50% more performance, maybe 15-20% as for price they say $550 msrp but could be $800 the first month if supply is tight
Hey rabid, I MUST be gettin' old....dunno how the hell I'd missed your excellent '01 score!:o Congrats on taking #2 spot! Outstanding work my friend.;)
ewitte, updated your score too.....seems ATi ownz in 3DMark, I can't even match your score with my Ultra.:( Great score BTW!:D Looks like the 3700+ San Diego can be nicely OC'd, judging from rabid and your very nice OCs.:D
eshbach, nothing wrong with publishing your score here.....none of the most excellent Sharks here would object.;)
I sorta wanna grab 2 g70's... i have the money to do it.... but then again theres that one thing.... oh yea, an apartment. Its tought choices, if i can get 2 for less than 900 i may do it.
hey mikeysg... theres a slight error in the sharky extreme 3dmark database. i wasnt useing the cooling that you have listed... i was using icewater.
also the part that says A64 3700+ San Diego @3.0ghz, can you change to just A64 3700+
I've edited the '@3ghz' part, but to do a good job about cooling solutions used, please provide me with details of what you've used for both CPU and GPU....sorry, I'm rather 'anal' about this sorta thing. :o :DQuote:
