Not necessarily a game beater, but I'm at the quest to defeat Alduin in Skyrim. I'm only level 30 so I think I need to keep grinding because he's kicked my *** in about 2 seconds flat 5 times now... lol...

Had a few Kairosoft games on Android stacking up so I decided to start picking them off out of my backlog. Started with Dungeon Village, which is pretty great so far; obviously an improvement over the Epic Space Story formula, as it's pretty similar but fixed a lot of the problems with it.
He crafts quite a bit. He saw guy on youtube with dragon bone armor and he's been building up his smithy skills since his first dragon kill. That's probably why he was a lower level and defeated Alduin, because all of his gear he built himself. either that or the dragon level scales and his weapons are probably better than what the average joe at level 23 has because he's been focusing on crafting so much.
So I picked up Dragon Quest VIII for PS2 on Amazon in Like New condition for $10, after being in the mood for a good JRPG again.
I actually owned the game back when it was new, played a few hours into it, and lost interest. I was turned off by light-hearted story and characters, and (thought) I wanted something more epic and grandiose.
So, eight years later, I picked it up again and while I'm only a couple of hours in, I'm enjoying it vastly more than I did the first time through. And that music....my God!
DQ8 is one of my all time favorites.
Haven't beaten much lately, most of the games I've been playing have been ongoing play (Minecraft, MMOs, Pocket Planes). Although, I did beat the enderdragon in Minecraft on Hardcore recently with a group of friends.
Another game I've been playing is X3:Terran Conflict. Been having a blast doing space trading and exploration. Still a little new to the game, but I want to eventually get a station up. It was really overwhelming at first, but I found some awesome vids on YouTube to help get me started.
[Edit] - Did a quick forum search for X3:TC and saw a lot of people had trouble getting into the game. Check out CdrDave on Youtube and look for his walkthrough vids. Here's the first one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p73C60btBi8 . He's really good at explaining the game's mechanics to someone who's a total noob to the X universe.
Ive been playing a crapton of Geometry Wars 2...I finally beat all my best buddies scores (by a lot) and am now working at Kama's scores.....holy crap man, I dont know how you got some of those scores lol. Ive only beaten one of yours so far. Got any tips?
Almost done with my 3rd playthrough of Fear 2 and im playing the cell shaded Prince of Persia. Ill be picking up Battlefield 3 QC tommorow or saturday. Also got Halo Anniversary so my son and I can play together.
Just beat Trine.
Fun little game although I became a bit OCD with collecting all the chests and exp bottles. Puzzles were pretty easy but the overall game was solid. Might check out 2 if it goes on sale.
I haven't beaten anything recently, but I saw a game on Giantbomb called Dwarf Fortress that I want try out. I've heard of it before, but never looked into it. It looks really neat.
I went off to see where I could find this for $5 and stumbled across it for $1.20. Wow. o_o

Played some more Dwarf Fortress. Such a huge game. I'm amazed a two man team made it. The UI is really crappy, but once you get past that the game is deeper than anything I've ever played. So much is going on in the background. It took my computer 4-5 mins just to generate the world because it creates a 250 year history when you start the game.
Think of the game as Oregon Trail x 1 million.
WoW that game looks like something I would've played in the 80s with all the ASCII character graphics.
Indeed! I recommend http://artgoblin.pl/df.php
