Nice sale. Amnesia is 13 bucks. Not a bad price on RE5 as well for 15.
Aliens vs Predator any good for 10?

I finally picked up Plants vs Zombies. I played and loved the demo, but never jumped on the full price version. $5 seems fair enough.
Thinking about Amnesia as well. Its $10 on a lot of other sites, but i think the extra $3 is worth it just to have it on Steam. My only worry is that I wont get around to playing it for a while and by the time I do, the Christmas sale will be here and Ill be able to nab it for $5-$10.
Also gonna pick up Nation Red and possibly the new AvP. It got meh reviews, but is it worth the $10?
Well, I picked up AvP.

holding out for that next week...SWEET
Looks a lot better than MoH, that's for sure.
Supreme Commander 2 is $5
Got it and the DLC for $8.50.
Risen for 15. I went ahead and picked it up. I've been waiting for a price drop on it.
Let us know what you think. I tired the 360 demo which was horrible, but I hear the PC version is significantly better though slightly buggy.
Just played about an hour of it and it is pretty fun. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is fun. It reminds me of older RPGs where it is less about talking and more about exploring. The voice acting is subpar and the animations of the characters aren't that great, but the game is still fun. It certainly doesn't hold your hand either. I had my *** handed to me by a boar lol. I think I've died 2-3 times already. Right away they have you making major plot choices and picking a side.
It seems like a fun game.
Oh yeah, 5-6 hours in and Risen is a lot of fun. It takes a while to warm up to you, but when it does, damn, it brings back memories of older RPGs. No mini-map. No marking quests on a map or having stupid exclamation marks above their heads. There is only a journal with very meager entries. The graphics are really good looking except the models. The environment looks great and it runs really well.
The combat is a little clunky and some mobs have way too much HP, but after building up some skill more options open. What I love is the freedom of the game. Right from the beginning they just say "Well, you can go over here or here or here or here or here....." Just pick a direction and start going. That first choice of path is an entirely new game because there are 3-4 faction that you can become a part of which guides the course of the rest of the game. I'm already planning another play through with a different faction.
Everything about this game reeks old school charm with modern amenities.
It isn't without its faults though. I already hit a snag in a quest chain that broke because I accidentally opened a chest and was pegged a thief and then the quest giver would not talk to me. I had to commandline cheat to get a "joke" scroll so I could make him not be mad at me. There are a few areas like that, but it runs solid and I haven't had any gameplay issues.
Definitely worth 15 bucks if you want something that was made recently but has a pre-oblivion undumbed down feel to it.
Remember though, it takes a while for it to grow on you!
Sale is going on for those not following the Steam for the Holidays thread.
New sales just posted.
Anybody here play Machinarium? It looks pretty cool. Plus I love puzzle games. New list is up though.
Just bought the new Indie pack that went up. I only wanted VVVVVVV but the whole pack is the price of that game alone, so why not?
I loved Machinarium. It was frustrating at times for me also, but overall very enjoyable.
I'm giving myself sub-$20 limit per game/package... so got the Indie pack and Dawn of War II combo pack! :D
