SMH used to live up in Alberta somewhere, where it got to like -40, so I'm sure he understands about the cold. ;)Quote:

The Giants will be just happy to be there, while the Patriots will be men on a mission.
Having 2 weeks to prepare favors the better coaching staff.
The scoring record in a Super Bowl is 55 points, and the Pats set all sorts of other scoring records this season.

FYI... people here in California think that I'm retarded (and probably more than a few at Sharky's... LOL!). Shorts, sandals, and T-Shirt all year round. The land of perpetual summer as far as I'm concerned.
So... umm... yeah. Don't even bother lecturing me on the "cold" of Green Bay.
On a side note:
Have never ever heard anything bad about the way that Seymour plays. Something to it... or just sour grapes? I did see Seymour "bump" Rivers a few times after the play yesterday... but considering who the loudmouth is... never thought anything from it. Nor did the refs who were right there apparently.Quote:
Chargers' center: Seymour "played like a punk''
Monday, Jan 21, 2008 9:22 am EST
While the San Diego Chargers were generally complimentary of the New England Patriots following Sunday's victory, one notable exception was center Nick Hardwick, who went off on Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour in an expletive-laden tirade for alleged dirty play the Boston Herald reported.
“He’s cheap and dirty and the head man just let him get away with it the whole time,” Hardwick said. “They’ve got 10 great players on that team and when Jarvis Green comes on the field, they’ve got 11 great players who compete how you’re supposed to play. But Richard Seymour is the biggest (expletive) I’ve ever played.
“Head slapping, foot stomping in the pile, running by and throwing punches in your back,” Hardwick said. “He’s a (expletive). … There were a lot of things he did. There’s a field goal where he was stomping feet. Who stomps feet? And the officials weren’t doing anything about it. He plays like a punk.”
Odd hearing an accusation of a D-lineman being "dirty" if anything... I always hear that about O-linemen... chop blocking at the knees and such.
And if anyone was going to get the accusation... I thought that it'd be Harrison... who has actually been fined... and suspended.
The giants gave them a game when all they had to play for was spoiler, now they are playing in the superbowl. The giants will once again be playing a game where no one gives them a chance just like the entire playoffs. They love being the underdog it's been liek that all playoffs. The afc being a tougher conference is a moot point because the giants already showed they can ball with the pats in week 17.Quote:

The game was as predicted a close game. The Giants are impressive and more impressive is Manning. He and the Giants went into hostile territory and pulled out a win in Lambeau Field. And yes, Favre made bad throws but he has made those kind of throws his whole career. The last interception was a really bad throw that should have been to the outside. I expect Favre to be back playing the same way and taking big risks because that's who he is; good and bad. As for the Super Bowl with everything that has happened, it looks to be a more competitive game than the two TD odds currently. But the Pats will win whether it's on Brady's arm or Coach Belichick making in-game adjustments.
I have a feeling there are a lot of dicks in the league... you just don't always hear about it. Lineman are notorious for the stuff they pull. My roommate played in college and his signature move was to reach under the chest pad, grab the opposing player's man boobs and squeeze like hell. Plus when you are recovering a fumble... you are supposed to get in the fetal position because players like to reach in to grab the balls. Yes, plural. There's a ton of stuff that is probably best left unknown and unseen.Quote:

Cold = weak sauce. Even California is too cold for me. Anybody got any job leads in Ecuador?

I think you'll find that where playoffs are concerned, all that matters is how a team is playing now, not how they played earlier in the season. Regardless of what their season records were, for good or ill, they're irrelevant now. It's true the Pats are on a mission but they also are the heavy favorites and therefore have all the pressure. The Giants can go out and be loose, playing the David to their Goliath.Quote:

I think that goes hand in hand with the one and done nature of the NFL. I still think the packers would beat the Giants probably 7 times out of 10...but they happened to hit one of those 3 when they played. The Giants better make the SB a damn good game, I'm sick of AFC fans talking smack.Quote:
