Thanks alot :). That is still pretty amazing how back when the Voodoo5 5500 was released 3DFX had 3 Generations planned for the future! Not to mention all of those to come out after the monster Voodoo5 6000 would have been released! :shocked:Quote:

actually, Spectre (Rampage, later Rampage + SAGE) was intented to be released instead of Voodoo3. But it didn't get finished in time. Then they had to put T&L engine in it since nVidia was hypeing their new GayFart T&L engine.. so they started designing all over again, and had to design SAGE from a scracth.. Last Spectre samples were known as R4, for being 4th redesign of Rampage chip.
LOL yeah wasn't the product in development over 30 months!? That is along time! No wonder they went broke just because of the cost for 2 1/2 years! That would have been amazing if the Rampage would have come out before Voodoo3! This would so change EVERYTHING!

It was very playable indeed. I was able to play Quake III and Unreal Tournament at very high frame rates (50-60 fps) in 32-bit colour on my TNT2 Pro. Of course, the catch was, it was at 640X480 or 800X600. As soon I upped the resolution to 1024X768, things became choppy.Quote:

Just a minute. Didn't 3dfx get really hurt by the lawsuit they lost against Nvidia????? Like they had some HUUUGE payout they had to make, plus they weren't allowed to use some of the stuff they had so called "stolen" from Nvidia. Does anyone have the details of the lawsuits?
Actually, for what i've heard at least, one of the biggest reasons for nVidia to buy 3dfx, was that those lawsuits would get dismissed. So it looks like 3dfx was going to win those lawsuits after allQuote:
