Looks good mom, great OC :)
Too bad all that extra cooling kinda goes to waste if you don't correct it yourself :( Good Luck to you :)

The 8K7a+ is a AMD 760 chipset mobo. you shouldnt be installing VIA drivers at all.Quote:

i wonder if it could be a bad card or driver prob. I did install the new via 4-1s but that shouldnt affect the agp since i did NOT install the via agp stuff.
what did u use to attach your ramsinks? i used that cheap tapelike stuff that came with the thermaltake ramsink kit. i thought about getting those plated copper sinks and AS epoxy, but im afraid to use it, if i glue em on and need to rma the board sometime in the future will i be able to get em off? cause $30 US is a lot to pay for ramsinks!!
{edit] sorry, im wrong. Its got the AMD 761 northbridge and via686 southbridge chip. you probably got it right not installing VIA AGP drivers.Quote:

Don't think it could be a bad card. This sounds more like a mainboard issue or something of the like. You could try the latest AMD drivers for your board, don't know how they'd work though :Quote:

I take it you've also checked under the "Chipset Features" field in your BIOS, right? There should be a setting there for AGP Fast Writes and AGP 4X.
The Leadtek card comes with a massive heatsink which covers most of the front and most of the back of the card. It cools (or attempts to cool) everything, so I just used plastic clamps to make the heatsink have proper contact with the memory.
When are you getting that Gainward?Quote:

As soon as I can, which unfortunantly might be a little bit longer; as no one has them in. The closest ETA is 27th so I hopefully cna get it then, assuming they will actually be in and not sold out. Oh well I'm sure it will be worth the wait :)Quote:

Hey sgt, i know they don't ship to canada i was just showing you that the thing said VIVO and had that splitter cable. Anyway, MoM, do you have any pics of your card with the clamps? I was wondering because i am going to be getting a new card and i am trying to decide which one. If the leadtek can go that high, then i may get that instead of gainward.
Sorry, no digital cam here, any way it looks incredibly getto with 80mm Sunon's on either side and four plastic clamps over where the mem is. ;)

Sure, I can run Quake 3 at 1600x1200x32 w/ 4X FSAA and 8X anistrophic filtering, as well as Ghost Recon at 1600x1200x32 w/ 2X FSAA, but it doesn't make that much of a difference during gameplay. Can't tell the difference between 50 FPS or 150 FPS either. :|
I just bought a GF4 MX440 card and I am happy with it. It is an upgrade from my Voodoo3 and I am amazed by the graphic quality and the speed improvement this card brings to me. DVD playback is fluid and crisp, 2D is bright and crisp, too. Its 3D powers up most of the games I played pretty well. I have not foreseen any game in the near future can drag down this GF4 MX4400 to its knee. I do not see any reason I should get the Ti4600 right now.
I will wait and see what goodies can be brought to us by Nvidia. Currently I am waiting for NVDVD, and see whether it is up to Nvidia's promise.
What make of card did you get? I would have gone with a GF4MX440 or 460 myself, however the lack of nVidia's nfinite engine and other features was a bit disconcerting. However, the GF4MX DDR series should be able to play a lot of todays games at 1600x1200x32, and almost all games in the next few years at 1024x768.
I must say that the 2D quality of this card is amazing. Comapared to the Radeon LE in my other system, the text definition at 1600x1200x32@85 is noticebly sharper with the GF4.
Along with speed, isn't image quality another reason to upgrade to the geforce 4? ;).Quote:
