No so good considering that you use very best DDR which is clocked to the max and that rdram rig uses very regular PC800 rdram which is overclocked just a bit. If it's vmem also increased a bit it could be make it with 4x, but that Abit board don't allow it without modifications.Quote:

There's some benches with same TH7-II with better luck with memory.

In next week Intel will release faster version of I850 which increases overall performance quite a bit even with same memory.
This isn't the fastest DDR out, and I don't think he can push that RAM much further than 1066MHz. While RDRAM is faster, it does not OC as well. Not only that But I need some RAMsinks and a better HSF and then we can see what this RAM can really do. It does 400MHz DDR very good, and rock stable, but it is very warm to the touch. With a better HS and RAMsinks I think I *might* be able to hit 2.6GHz and 400+ on teh RAM. But I won't be able to try that out for awhile :(Quote:

edit---
BTW he is using one of/if not the best RAM available for RDRAM..And my mem scores are still good, the diffrence bewteen the two is probably hardly even noticable in real world apps.
Eh, that rdram makes 4*133 so it's also able to do 3*176. Overclock is not limited by rdram but CPU itself. Without maximum clock it's still faster than fastest DDR-sdram, and you are also able to try your cpu's limits with lower memory multiplier but because lack of memory throughput performance decreases.Quote:

In that case, that rdram overclocks 33% without increasing voltage, and you were able to overclock 25% with 0.4V voltage increase and still you are telling how good overclocker DDR is.
you are VERY right about that.Quote:

if i set my RAM to 1066 his score will be far behind.. but i choose the 150 FSB + 2.4 GHz.
like u said...the CPU is holding me. the RAM is not overclocked to the max.....it has still a 166 mhz. room to be played with.
at 1066 I'd say probably 250Mb/s and like I said I can take this RAM further than what its at....so gimme some time and we'll see :p And the gain you would have over me is so menial in terms of real world apps. I mean sure it's faster, but do you think you'd be able to see it in real world applications? I don't :DQuote:

true u can't really tell. but i'd get a few more 3dmarks than u bro :p ;)Quote:

u can take the Ram higher? i thought u said that was ur limit and u needed to increase voltage + add Ram sinks??
but then i can also increase voltage and add an AC in my case :D;)
j/k i am talking about what WE currently are at now. but it ain't a big difference.... we have one of the fastest systems on SF i think. and once u get that GF4 Ti 4400 u will demolish my 3dmark score
I'm gonna run it now with my TNT2 lol, I'll post back in a few minutes lol.Quote:

Well apparently I can't even run 3DMark on this speed demon aka TNT2. After the first test It gives me an error saying that 3Dmark c ouldnt not initalize my 3D device, and that I should try lowering teh resolution, lol. I was only in for a sub 1000 score anyway, I want my GF4!! :(
I mean that the ram is at 200Mhz/400 right now, and it's still stable as a rock, so I'm assuming with a little cooling, and less agressive timings I could up the FSB a little more. But I don't wanna try til I get a new Heatsink and FAN + RAMsinks.Quote:

Nice overclock!
same to u bro :)Quote:

150FSB x 400Mhz x 2 = 1200Mhz. No way. Thats why we have our memory at 300Mhz instead, yielding 900Mhz. Also I was at 1120 mem b4 and could bench, but not pass Prime95. And my mem was the same temp all the way thru. It's the DRCG's that won't allow the mem higher. I have written down that my mark was 3464 in mem, 4150 in arith, and 8900 in media. But once again this is with a TNT2MX. Too bad I wasn't stable =(.
All this 1.6a talk... I'm almost thinking about saying "Screw waiting for the 2.2a price drops. I'm getting a 1.6a and just OC the bejebus out of it until prescott."
(seriously)
Decision... decisions...
