I had the Banshee too and it was great - but cost a lot? Mine was $90 about a month after they came out. I returned a TNT ($125) to get the Banshee because I needed Glide.Quote:

Still love and still use my Voodoo3, great card.
After that it has to be my AIW Radeon. The entire AIW series blew my mind. I mean after I bought this card I thought, "Gee, why don't ALL video cards do this?" Now, I'm afraid, I'm stuck in the AIW zone, never to leave. :( :D
LOL...that is exactly what I was going to say. Man, Battle Zone looked so sweet on this, especially once I patched the game to run the higher resolutions. I also think I paid ~$300 for my 8MB card when I got it. I actually still have it.Quote:

That was the biggest jump in performance and image quality ever. Going from software to hardware 3D showed me the biggest difference between cards I have ever seen. Sure there are cards that are much faster now but I don't see huge leaps like I did switching over to that Voodoo2.:)
Let's see, what video cards have I owned...
Guillemot MaxiGamer3D2 (that was a Voodoo2 12MB -- I bought that when the V3s were already out and I didn't have alot of money, it was only $100 and played NFS3 and Q2 like silk :))
Visiontek GeForce 256 DDR
Visiontek GeForce 3 Ti200
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
I've liked all my cards, but my fav is definitely the latest one. I hold my original card second (those Voodoo2s were all it was back then...playing Quake2 at 800x600 with all the details and still hitting over 60 FPS was the best thing). As for the two ATI cards, I've owned both in two weeks. The 9700 took a crap, I had to return it, and they didn't have anymore in stock so I just picked up the 9800 instead :) I love my UT2k3, 1600x1200x32 full detail, 4x AA and 16x AF and it still holds at least 30 most of the time (and usually sticks between 40 and 50)... Of course, in big games I can't keep everything that high, but for just playing smaller botmatches or 1v1, it's one of the best looking things I've ever seen in gaming...
My favorite vid card is always the best vid card.
In this case GeforceFX 5900U :p
My first REAL video card....Asus Geforce 2 GTS 64mb. Still using it with my good 'ol P3 1Ghz.:D

Definetly my Voodoo 3 2000 @ 200MHz (modded with ramsinks and better gpu cooling) :)
My favorite video card was my first one, Voodoo 3 3500. Brings back memories :) Had her running with my K6-3 450mhz, talk about drooling over Unreal 1
My favorite video card had to been my STB Velocity 4400 with a STB Black Magic Voodoo2 card with 12MB...
They rocked!!!!
My worse card was the Cirrus Logic VL-Bus card I had... IT was terrible, the drivers never worked right and the card blew...
But I dont have my STB collection anymore :(
I also really love my Visiontek GF4 4400, but I dont like the Leadtek GF4 4600 as much :(
i'm with you on this, i'll never spend £260 on a vid-card again, but i've never regretted spending that much on my GF3, my first and current card.Quote:

its done me proud, but the moment it all became worthwhile for more than just speed was when i bought Morrowind, by god was that special! :D
REMF
There is a lot of Voodoo love in this thread. *sniff*
It's not?Quote:

I'm glad to see 3dfx supporters!
I love my 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 PCI. I still use it for one of my systems too.
