One should have known you cant keep promises on a game with that much hype. It has to be perfect or there will be no strong Half-Life 3, we dont want another Tribes 2 do we? I can hardly wait myself. Gives me time to upgrade more RAM, get a new CPU/MOBO and a new video card. Its only 2 more months, hopefully :).
They should be working on HL3 already.
I remember reading that in PC GAMER.
And on to note the Gold date:
Facturies are going to dedicate their machiens to this I bet :)
So it probably won't take as long as other games.
As long as its out before the end of the year I'll be happy.
Kinda wish they release it the day after final exams.
Then it will be a MERRY Christmas. :D
But then again, earlier the better
Vivendi supposedly said they wouldn't be announcing when it goes gold.
But I believe Valve said they would.

Dont EVER say HL3 again or I might hug you to death :). I can barely wait for HL2 and you have to bring up HL3 didnt you?
I guess they desided to hold off on its release so that it would be released at the same time the 9800XT with it bundled will be released.
the xt is comming out on the 30th as well I thoughtQuote:

I bet on the 30th we get the benchmark along with a notice it's gone gold.
I concur.:(Quote:

I don't allow myself to get hyped up about these things. That's what's nice, when D3 is released they will just release a notice. They won't set a date and try to get there while we all bite our nails about it, they are expected to just say "hey its done so you can have it in 2 weeks". I can wait the two extra weeks. I don't doubt the game is not finished yet, it probably is, they are just getting everything ready for launch and I'm sure the plants that make the games for valve are trying to get geared up.Quote:

Latest is the holiday gift rush.
I can bet $ on that.

We've managed to get an official statement from Valve Software on the release date of Half-Life 2 being pushed back. Here is word that I got directly from Doug Lombardi of Valve Software. Valve seems to have been having some mail issues so you may not see this on other sites, however we can confirm with absolute certainty that this is valid:
The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date.
