Thanx guys!:D
Ok, will do XP18004life:)
Here ya go. Cables around the mobo will be hidden and the ones by the PSU will be straightened out.

There it is, that looks much better man. Nice work:)
Also, if you aren't using that bottom drive cage, just pitch it. It will open up so much room in your case:) Ditch those ugly purple fan holders too and you're really in business;)
I thought about doing that. But, I also thought about securing the fans (I don't know what case you have, but on mine, the top intake is secured by the 3.5" cage). I had a few ideas, but none of them seemed too good. I also thought about putting a 120 mm in there as an intake:p Suggestions?:)
I have the same case, and I just cut out the front fan grilles and made holes with my dremel. I did the same thing with the rear fans as well. It turned out pretty nice!
If you don't have a dremel though, velcro will work great:)
Check my sig for pics.
Ya, I thought about drilling holes. I guess since it worked for you I might try it. I do have a couple of heavy duty drill bits I could use:D Maybe I could pick up a Dremel...in a few weeks I'll have enough to buy one:)
(oh wow...i just checked out your imagestation album...that looks reaallly nice......love your desk too:D )
With two intakes like you've got, you could do a little project that I've wanted to do myself, but don't have the room in my current case, and the new one won't need it.....for the case intake, anyways.
Remove the extra hd cage and mount the fan like XP suggested. Make a little custom cowl for the fan that directs the upper fan discharge to the NB & CPU area. This could improve your case airflow (in theory, anyways). Most hardware stores sell small sheets of aluminum (or steel if you prefer) that you could bend/cut/rivet into a slick cowl. Paint it, and check those case temps!
Just an idea, anyways....
I'll have a similar cowl on the new case, but it will be for the radiator intake for my wc setup. My intake for the rad will be on the side, and the discharge out the back.
BTW, nice job on the wire clean-up.
Praise from GLScooby:eek: hehehe thanx
If I understand you correctly, I also thought about doing something like that (reason being my vid card is so long, the air is directed towards the bottom) although, I thought about using some large pipe or something, and securing that in my 3.5" cage...but removing it is sounding a whole lot nicer now. Is it just me or were my last few posts REALLY repetitive lol:)
It was pretty hot here this summer so I set up a temp "duct mod" that required the side of the case removed and running a piece of clothes dryer ducting from the cpu fan to the window. Asthetically, YUK! Functionally, it worked extremely well, and to the point, the dryer duct:
1) fits perfectly around an 80mm fan,
2) Is a breeze to work with,
3) and it's dirt cheap.
4) oh yeah, it even takes paint.....not too much, though.
This could be a little easier alternative to the cowl....and could give you some idea of the benefits (case temps) to see if a more involved project like the cowl would be worth the effort.
Thanx for the ideas! I probably could run down to Lowes and try that out this weekend...along with the exhaust and intake mounts:)
In the meantime, we'll be waiting for more pics:)
i'd like to post a pic of my rig somewhere. are there any free places that host a few megs of pics?
Sure are. I have 9 megs at Imagestation.:)
score. in that case, i'll post a pic of mine! enjoy all.
