Edit: I just realized that when I look at the score his fsb is listed as 20MHz. All I can say is he must have a huge multiplier! And with such a low fsb, how can he do so well?
Do you honestly think that he has a FSB of 20MHZ?
3DMark isn't reading it correctly.
Where are the linkies???:confused:Quote:
could be the year 2010 before we see 8500s push 30 marks. even a ti500 owns the 8500 in speed but not IQ

think I cant hit 3GHz? ok this is a bet. If someone provides me with a prometeia, if I dont hit 3GHz, ill send him my cpu and get another!
Since you need to pump 2.2v through your CPU to only get 2.47GHz, there is no way in hell you can get 3GHz unless you pump like... 3v into that thing. Oh and show me the full stepping of your CPUQuote:

2.47GHZ on 2.2v...and not stable for one second in Prime95...good luck getting 3GHZ on a Prometeia.
I mean't links showing me the TI500 "eating" the 8500.Quote:

3v??? That thing will hit a wall well before 3GHZ anyway!!!

I am not removing my slk-800u but its a tbred B, AIUHB too.
and with deep chilling, you can gain much more MHz on the same voltage. If this is not true, tell me otherwise. I dont guarantee ill hit 3GHz on that cpu, maybe less, but I can always get another cpu and try. besides fsb matters more, id be better off sticking the prometeia to my mobo's northbridge for 235fsb times 10.5 for 2.47GHz. Since fsb is worth 10x of cpu MHz, a gain of 45 in fsb is worth 450MHz cpu speed, thus Id need 2.92GHz at 190fsb to match 2.47 at 235 and dont flame me, I speak from experience. I have tested it at 133 and 166fsb so I know, thanks. I wont bother spending $500+ on a prometeia, id be better off getting an a64 thatll blow away my tbred. how far does the a64 xp3200 do on air? 2.3GHz max? with a prom they do like 2.7 if your ram and fsb doesnt limit you
"I mean't links showing me the TI500 "eating" the 8500."
ill search later, you do the search :)
It was sarcasm Speedstream. Sarcasm.
What about the other parts of the stepping, not just the first section of the third lineQuote:

Tbird, there is no way your chip will do 3ghz on any amount of V-core with any amount of cooling. If you stick your prommy on the Nbridge your ram sucks anyway so you won't be able to oc any more... 235fsb, HAHAHHAHA.
PS: You make it too easy Tbird, too easy.

My friend said good quality pc3200, my corsair value for example has a good shot at 235fsb if you "burn" it in. First start low like 215 then increase the fsb a few MHz at a time. you may need to do mods to get the mobo to pump more than 3.2v to the ram too. Not an easy task. additionally I could just buy a 256mb of pc3500 CL2 rating and it should be much easier to hit 235 then. as for 3GHz, everyone told me my chip wont do more than 2.3GHz on air but I proved them wrong. The best chips do like 3.3 to 3.5GHz and mines close but not the best. 2.47GHz on air is quite amazing sir! anyway this is all speculation but moot as im not getting a prom
No, I don't think you can hit 3 ghz, no one with an XP chip has hit 3 ghz yet, and I'll be damned if some poor 3dmark punk who has never used a prometeia before, who creams his pants at the mention of a ti4200, will do it. Who the **** is going to give you a prometeia? Oh what a deal that is, someone cash in on this now! Tbird is offering you an average $50 cpu, all you gotta do is spend over $400 on him first! well **** me in the *** and call me tbirds man, where do I sign up?!?!?!Quote:

I don't think I've ever written anything as sarcastic as that before.
Thank you 1800+, I am in the saying no way column tbird its just not realistic, you need a better CPU. Even Xducks Didnt hit 3ghz and his was on a prommie and had higher FSB than yours with less voltage by far.
"no one with an XP chip has hit 3 ghz yet"
prove it to me then! Didnt someone complete a 3dmark with a tbred at 2.98GHz? Ive heard of 3.5GHz as the record but on LN2 and probably only partially stable. bldegle2 got 2.9 on his prom and his is a barton which are known not to reach as high a MHz, although the extra cache compenstates.
" Tbird is offering you an average $50 cpu, all you gotta do is spend over $400 on him first!"
hell I can send back the prometeia instead, I have little need for one since it takes tons of power and space and I wont be running it at insane ocs except to bench. Just need a few benchies and you can have the prom back!
"well **** me in the *** and call me tbirds man, where do I sign up?!?!?!"
heh interesting use of words and I wont reveal what the askerisks mean as not to offend anyone. you can join my ti4200 club and to sign up all you gotta do is own one :D
"Even Xducks Didnt hit 3ghz and his was on a prommie and had higher FSB than yours with less voltage by far."
His barton wasnt such a good overclocker. high fsb has nothing to do with cpu, he did 250fsb at 2.2GHz but his cpu could not handle high fsb and high MHz at once! Lostlilchild's tbred did 2.66 on air at 2.1v but he sold it when he got his 2.8c at 3.5 Now thats one heck of a good cpu and he claims hes seen em do up to 2.8 on air. wow you could get mid 3GHz on a prom. also my friend has a friend whos claiming hes at 3.5GHz on a prom and hes working his way to 4GHz but we dont believe him since he has shown no proof........
Apparently you never listen. How the hell are you going to hit 235FSB if your motherboard can't even bring you past 190? In your case right now the RAM can't do ****. 2.47GHz with 2.2V is no where near amazing, there are people in this forum that hit 2.5+GHz with Bartons and they're at 0.2V lower than yours. And seriously, stop pulling out random numbers, I don't even know where you get the idea of 3.3 to 3.5GHz. Like Alientank said, there are no XP CPUs out there that hit 3GHz yet, not to mention there are no A64 CPUs that went that speed as well.Quote:
