So he wrote a QBasic program that that allows his computer to use two motherboards with two processors.....wow....did he do this before or after he wrote his own linux distribution?!? Btw, if the motherboards were communicating over a serial cable that would do nothing but make everything slower...serial ports aren't very fast.

BTW, guys, I just made this new technology where my computer uses the processing power of every computer on the internet at the sametime....I have a 9231123413215145Mhz. PC now!......that is almost as believable as a 486 100Mhz. and a 386 25Mhz. or whatever being overclocked and running together via a Qbasic program over a serial link.

Actually AMD had a 120mhz 486. As far as 386 goes, AMD had a 40mhz. It was referred to as a DX model though it had no math coprocessor. But yea, the dual MB sounds like bullshavitch!

Sheesh you guys are a little loaded on the caffiene, just a quick reminder that Compaq machines have had slot mountable motherboards for some time whcih allowed for multiple motherboards in a single machine. But I don't think they'd get to work over a cable/wire.

Just to add my two cents....
There's no way that can be done, it's impossible. First of all, serial ports are really slow. I mean REALLY slow. Now paralell ports may have been enough for a null modem between two comps with coop doom, but it's still way too slow for what you're talking about. And what's this gibberish about a 386 going at 212? Not possibe. But I did manage to make a 486 DX4 run at about 200.....for about 4 seconds. The high voltage scrambled the die https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif. But geek boy, you must be on some strong crack to come up with these illusions. BTW I did find something kind of interesting. Actually to things.

There are server chassis with the SCSI backplane where the hard drives attach. This appears to look like a second board, and to the uninformed would appear to be a dual motherboard system.

The second is with 8 CPU Xeon systems. 4 of the CPU's are mounted on a separate board and then that board is attached with a cascade cable to connect them to the main motherboard.

So there are a couple of things that could look like dual motherboards.

Then I also did see something like this with a system case that had room for up to 8 motherboards that all communicated with gigabit ethernet. These were alla the ILM render farms. Just rather than separate boxes they had a single large box with all of them.

But a serial cable has a max speed of 115kbps. That is a max of 14KB/s which is so frigging slow that an original 8086 CPU by itself would be over 300X faster.

I agree with you too a point. I am in 10th grade, and I am itelligent enough to know that dual motherboards won't work. I mean, sure he is getting a lot of crap about it, and he probably shouldn't be, but he should realize that his friends are joking with him and stop posting things defending his friends.
But i do stick up for anyone who is young and building their own computers. Heck, my dad didn't believe I could do it and I proved him wrong. So Geek boy, listen to us here, and if you could...take a picture or something of your friends system and send it in here. Either we'll find out your somehow right or it'll be good for a laugh. Can't hurt...

yeah.. duhh i have a friend.. and he had five motherboards, and its connected to his pacer. And each motherboard has a computer chip; its a 486 processor, and he overclocked all the chips to a 1.1gigahertz thunderbird... and each computer has 1024 sdram... and.. and.... i'm smart.. so umm.. five * 1024...thats umm.. one billion sdram and like 5 * 1.1 gigahertz is like.. uhh 7 gigahertz fast.. and umm.. did I tell you he invented the internet too?

Once, when I was in the second grade (a few years ago, believe me) a fellow had a marble that was 2 inches in diameter. What a marble, so I asked him where he got it.
